Student answer (Band 6.0)

In the modern era, many problems are faced by people in today's time because of busy schedule and other household works. To solve this issue, individuals hire others who are able to do these kinds of household works and see kids until they are at work. Many middle class people work as maid, driver and so on. It is a good thing to give work other people and they could pay them for work and babysitting. In my opinion, It is beneficial for both side because busy people can work without any other obstacle and people who work for them, could get money according to their needs. I will explain causes in upcoming paragraphs.

Firstly, superior reason is reduction of stress and decrease work load. To explicate it, most of citizens are busy in their lives and they do not have enough time to do household work because people's mind have changed about housewives. Nowadays, women have right to do jobs in big companies, factories. So, they are not able to do household chores at the same time. Now, people can hire someone as maid to do their works which help to reduce their tension. Moreover, they can save their time with this. As a result, it is a positive development that women can work for themselves.

Furthermore, by taking help from someone to these works, they can offer money to them. Most of people are facing unemployment which is very harmful for them to survive. By helping others, they can get good money for their work and fulfil their needs. Also, this would be significant for them as they can work easily like their house work. Hence, it is better idea to decrease unemployment and people can do hardwork and could change their lives.

In conclusion, Although it can be risky to hire unknown people to help them in their household chores and looking their kids after them, it has several positive views such as to give work others reduce daily stress, anxiety and also people who have no work or middle class people can earn by helping them in their works.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses both parts of the prompt, discussing whether outsourcing chores provides good work for others and whether people should do these tasks themselves. The position is stated, albeit simply in the introduction. Ideas are presented, such as reducing stress and providing employment opportunities for middle-class workers, but they tend to be repetitive and lack deeper extension or more sophisticated support. For instance, the point about working women is introduced in the first body paragraph but remains somewhat underdeveloped. Overall, the response covers all parts of the task adequately, aligning with the requirements for a Band 6.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing used to separate the introduction, two body paragraphs, and the conclusion. However, the progression of ideas is sometimes hindered by mechanical or repetitive cohesive devices, such as 'To explicate it', 'Furthermore', and 'Hence'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'by taking help from someone to these works, they can offer money to them', where pronoun antecedent tracking becomes slightly confusing. Paragraphs are identifiable, but the internal flow of logic requires tighter linking. This performance corresponds to a Band 6.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, demonstrating an attempt to incorporate less common items such as 'unemployment', 'anxiety', and 'obstacle'. However, there are noticeable word choice and collocation errors throughout the text, such as 'household works' instead of 'household chores', 'give work other people' instead of 'provide work for other people', and 'looking their kids after them'. Spelling and word-formation errors do not severely impede communication, but they restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.5 due to limited precision and recurring awkward phrasing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing relative clauses and conditional structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with prepositions, articles, and verb forms (e.g., 'many problems are faced by people in today's time because of busy schedule', 'busy people can work without any other obstacle and people who work for them, could get money'). Punctuation errors are also present, such as unnecessary commas before modal verbs. While these errors rarely completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the writing from reaching the next band, placing it solidly at a Band 5.5.
