Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that it is okay to pay somebody for things that you do not have an interest, or do not have enough time to do. For instance such as household work or looking after children.
I believe this is a good way of providing employment for others including those who are unemployed and financial issues. As a result, it helps them to earn enough salary. It is a great opportunity for them. Another reason is people who are providing services to others, they get many benefits such as rich people paying their children tuition fees or giving them beautiful outfits, helps in groceries also.
I believe people can do things by themselves also. As a result it can help them to stay fit, physical active and productive. If people do no have busy schedules, they can manage household chores as well as take care of children also. In addition, someone can hire an assitance for house work, but children care is very important. Because children needs time and mother's love also. Parents can relax or it is a good way to spend time with family. As a result, it is also helps in strenthening bond together. On the other side, In modern era, mother and father both are doing job. In conclusion, I believe it also give benefit to people who are in need or unemployed. Through this, they can also help in household works and also earn money. On the other side, If people do not have busy schedules, they should do house work and take care of children also. It helps them to physical fit and get time to spend with childs also.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both whether hiring help is a good way to provide employment and whether people should do these tasks themselves. However, the development of ideas is uneven. For instance, the point about employment is raised with valid thoughts such as helping the unemployed, but it remains somewhat repetitive, stating that it helps people earn a salary. Similarly, the counter-argument that doing chores keeps people physically active is mentioned but lacks deeper extension or specific examples. The position is generally clear throughout, but the arguments would benefit from greater elaboration and more distinct supporting details to fully satisfy higher descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear stance split across paragraphs, creating a logical progression of ideas. Paragraphing is utilized to separate the discussion on employment benefits from the personal benefits of doing chores oneself. However, cohesion at times feels mechanical or repetitive, notably through the frequent use of transitional phrases like 'As a result' and 'On the other side,' which are used multiple times in succession. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use that blurs whether the writer is referring to the parents, the children, or the hired assistants, pointing to the need for smoother cohesive links.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The student displays an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating everyday concepts relating to household chores and employment. There are several attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'financial issues,' 'busy schedules,' and 'modern era,' but these are accompanied by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and form, such as 'physical active' instead of 'physically active,' 'childs' instead of 'children,' and 'strenthening bond' instead of 'strengthening the bond.' While these inaccuracies and spelling or word-form slips do not entirely impede communication, they highlight the limitations in lexical control that keep the response at this level.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some control over basic sentence patterns. However, the range of structures remains somewhat limited, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. Examples include awkward phrasing like 'people who are providing services to others, they get' which involves a redundant pronoun, and 'children needs' involving subject-verb agreement issues. Punctuation and article errors also persist throughout the text, such as missing articles before nouns like 'house work' and 'mother's love'. Although these errors rarely completely impede communication, they occur frequently enough to characterize the grammatical control.
