Student answer (Band 6.0)
Often times, people make use of the services of others to carryout things like house chores or baby sitting mostly because they do not have the time or just do not want to do it themselves. This is a good means of providing jobs for others and it is not compulsory for people to carryout these things themselves.
So many jobs are made available due to outsourcing of normal daily chores to others. For example cleaning, dog walking, mowing the lawn, washing of cars and baby sitting. They are usually taken up by teenagers on holidays who wants to make quick cash but cannot get proper jobs. This helps to give me experience on how it feels like to work and get paid for it, it also helps them to save up for things like new phones, shoes, bags and clothes. In addition, people who do not have proper educational qualifications or specialised skills, get the opportinity to earn money, they use basic knowledge as it requires for them to carryout the regular activities they would have done in their homes.
It is not compulsory for people to do these things themselves. Their inability to perform these tasks, could be as a result of a very tight working schedule, sometimes it could even be due to a rigid school calendar that does not provide you the time to do them yourself. For example it can be overwhelming for mothers who are also building a career. They find it difficult to balance their job and taking care of the home, so they have no other option than to seek help by employing the service of others to reduce stress.
In conclusion, the possibility of paying others to do household chores or looking after the children is an effective way of job creation and people are not obligated to do these themselves as this can be a means of stress reduction.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, successfully discussing both whether paying others is a good way to provide work and whether people should do chores themselves. Your position is clear throughout the essay. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the point regarding job creation for teenagers and individuals without specialised qualifications is well-supported with examples like dog walking and car washing. On the other hand, the discussion on why people do not have time to complete these tasks is somewhat generalised, particularly when mentioning mothers building a career. To move further up, you need to extend all your main arguments with deeper explanations and more specific examples rather than relying on brief supporting points.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
Your essay has a coherent overall arrangement, and you have structured your response into logical paragraphs that each focus on a distinct aspect of the prompt. You make use of cohesive devices to guide the reader, such as 'In addition', 'For example', and 'In conclusion'. However, cohesion is sometimes a bit mechanical or faulty. For instance, in the second paragraph, the referencing in the sentence 'This helps to give me experience...' is unclear, as 'me' shifts unexpectedly to a personal anecdote that breaks the formal tone of the essay. Furthermore, the progression between some sentences could be smoother. To achieve a higher band, you should ensure that referencing is consistently precise and cohesive devices connect ideas more naturally without feeling repetitive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully incorporating terms relevant to the topic such as 'outsourcing', 'specialised skills', and 'stress reduction'. You also attempt less common vocabulary, such as 'compulsory' and 'overwhelming'. However, there are noticeable limitations and inaccuracies in word choice, collocation, and word form. For example, you wrote 'carryout' instead of the verb form 'carry out', and used 'opportinity' with a spelling error. Additionally, phrases like 'make quick cash' are slightly informal for an IELTS essay. Your errors do not impede communication, but to reach a higher level, you need to demonstrate a wider range of vocabulary with more precise control over collocations and correct word forms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, utilizing structures such as subordinate clauses introduced by 'because' and 'while'. There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, but they rarely impede communication. For example, you have issues with pluralisation and article usage, such as 'opportinity to earn money' and missing articles before nouns, as well as comma splices or run-on structures in sentences like 'This helps to give me experience on how it feels like to work and get paid for it, it also helps them...'. To improve your grammatical score, you should focus on increasing the frequency of error-free complex sentences and paying closer attention to subject-verb agreement and punctuation.
