Student answer (Band 5.5)

People this day's are struggling to find jobs and I think this is an excellent way of providing work to others as this can help an individual develop a skills or master an existing one. In almost all the countries people are not able to earn enough money to keep there home running. They struggle to pay the bills, pay for children's education, groceries and so on. No work is considered worst it all depends on individuals mindset. The most important thing is you should be happy and satisfied with the work and the wage that you get paid.

Another reason that this is a good way is you could earn some more money by giving you household chores or other small errands to someone and pay them while you focus on something much more important. Everyone is to busy to focus only on one particular thing. Apart from just earning there are also other important places a person need to be like funerals, Vacations, College and stay home with loved ones.

People should sometimes shop for groceries themselves especially when they are allergic to certain foods and ingredients or when purchasing medications. Also when sending someone to buy groceries they would care less about the quality and price of the product and also may pick items that are either expired or about to expire. I like to go for my grocery shopping because I can get good quality of produce and products with longer shelf life and also compare the prices of different products at the same time. I like to shop my self for groceries as my past experience were horrible with items being squished in the bag and rotten fruits and vegetables as well as moldy bread.

At last I think paying someone for chores is the best thing but it all comes down an individuals preference about what work is important for them to get done and what works needs there specific attention

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both whether hiring help provides useful employment and whether people should handle these chores themselves. The position is generally clear throughout, particularly regarding the personal preference for grocery shopping. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. While the economic argument about providing work and helping people pay bills is expanded, the discussion on personal responsibility versus outsourcing is slightly repetitive. To move to a higher band, the writer would need to extend and support all arguments more thoroughly with fully developed examples rather than relying on general assertions about busy lifestyles.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a coherent overall arrangement and presents a clear stance, moving from the economic benefits of outsourcing to personal reasons for doing tasks oneself. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty and mechanical. Transition phrases are basic, such as "Another reason that this is a good way" and "At last I think," which leads to a somewhat repetitive structure. Paragraphing is used, but the logical progression within paragraphs could be smoother; for instance, the transition from talking about funerals and vacations directly into grocery shopping lacks a seamless connective thread. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as pronoun use referring back to vague antecedents.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully attempting less common vocabulary such as "errands," "shelf life," and "allergies." However, there are noticeable lexical errors and inappropriate word choices, such as writing "People this day's" instead of "these days," "keep there home running" instead of "their," and "worst" instead of "worse." Spelling and word choice errors appear throughout the text, including "to busy" instead of "too busy," but they do not severely impede communication. To achieve a higher band, the writer must use a wider range of vocabulary with greater precision and eliminate basic spelling and collocation slips.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating some attempt at subordination and relative clauses. However, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. Issues include missing articles ("develop a skills" instead of "develop skills"), punctuation errors (missing apostrophes in possessives like "individuals mindset" and lack of terminal punctuation in the final sentence), and preposition usage. Complex structures often contain minor errors that require the reader to occasionally pause, placing the control firmly at this level where a mix of forms is present alongside persistent mistakes in basic agreement and sentence boundary punctuation.
