Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, discussing both whether hiring help is a good way to provide employment and whether people should do these chores themselves. However, the development of ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the argument about employment is introduced and supported with general assertions about underprivileged people, but the points lack depth and specific elaboration. While a clear position is maintained throughout the essay and reiterated in the conclusion, the reasoning tends to rely on broad generalizations rather than fully explored examples, reflecting a partial rather than comprehensive treatment of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays some overall organization with a clear paragraph structure, using introductory and concluding frameworks. However, there is a lack of smooth overall progression between ideas. Cohesive devices are sometimes used mechanically or inaccurately, such as 'To commence with', 'Thereby, This trend can creat', and 'In contrast, Ther are fewer drawbacks of it'. Referencing can also be unclear at times, as seen in the phrase 'instead of child's education' where the antecedent is ambiguous. Paragraphing is present, but the internal flow of sentences within paragraphs often feels disjointed due to repetitive phrasing and awkward transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, providing a sufficient range to communicate basic points. The writer attempts less common vocabulary items, such as 'underprivileged', 'financial stability', and 'culinary skill', but these attempts are frequently accompanied by errors in word choice, spelling, and word form. Examples include 'prefered' instead of preferred, 'employement' instead of employment, 'underprivilaged' instead of underprivileged, 'inevedable' instead of inevitable, 'compitative' instead of competitive, and 'sufficiant' instead of sufficient. These noticeable lexical errors and misspellings occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer demonstrates a limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on simple forms alongside faulty attempts at complex sentences. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with subject-verb agreement, articles, and verb patterns. Examples of errors include 'people do not get enough time to pay attention in their household works', 'It is widely prefered working individuals to have house maid', 'This will can detter them toward the criminal activities', 'a person who has hired household workers, are become heavily depend on them', and 'people may also more likely to miss'. These frequent errors require the reader to occasionally pause to decipher the intended meaning.
