Student answer (Band 5.5)

Paying others to do the things which we do not wish to perform has become a widespread trend. People can easily outsource labour for any kind of work and accessing to these people has become so easy and convenient. Many things like chores, dogwalking or babysitting can be managed easily if one is busy in other things. Many people question weather it is good to provide employment by avoiding basic duties is right or not. Moreover, should people be doing these kinds of work in the first place. We will be discussing both these views with relevant examples and try to breakdown this trend.

On the one hand, many people feels that providing employment by avoiding the basic duties and chores is not the right way to provide jobs in market. The reason behind this will be the long discussions on the famous news channels regarding doing our own chores show discipline and make the life healthy. Moreover, certain work like taking care of baby or doing office work are considered very cruicial and should be done by person only rather than outsourcing it. For instance, paying someone else to complete the office work highlights poor ethical values towards employee's professional values. Also, it will help increase employment in the market at this tough economical phase.

We have seen multiple news regarding the crimes committed by the househelps when parents were busy at their jobs. So, there are few things which we should do ourselves even though it takes efforts.

To conclude, outsourcing service is discovered for convenience and it got famous because of its practical use cases. People shoud use whatever is making theri life easy but at the same time, people should be careful of not depending too much on these services and use everything in limit.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task prompt, discussing both whether outsourcing is a good way to provide employment and whether people should perform these tasks themselves. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the argument regarding office work in the second body paragraph is slightly confusing and under-developed, while the point about childcare risks in the third paragraph is clearer. The writer maintains a clear overall position throughout the essay, though some arguments tend to over-generalise, placing the response securely in the mid-range for this criterion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear organizational structure, utilizing a traditional four-paragraph layout with an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices are employed to link ideas, such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'To conclude'. However, referencing and cohesion are occasionally mechanical or slightly faulty, such as the abrupt transition in the final paragraph starting with 'Outsourcing service is discovered...'. Paragraphing is used sufficiently, but overall logical progression between sentences could be smoother to reach higher bands.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to communicate everyday ideas related to outsourcing and chores. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'outsource labour', 'cruicial', and 'over dependence', but these are accompanied by noticeable word-choice and spelling errors, such as 'weather' instead of 'whether', 'imact', 'effects' instead of 'affects', and 'househelps'. These errors do not seriously impede communication, but they reflect a limited vocabulary range that requires more precision and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, attempting multi-clause structures such as 'Paying others to do the things which we do not wish to perform has become a widespread trend.' There are frequent errors in grammar, punctuation, and article usage throughout the text, such as 'accessing to these people', 'busy in other things', 'a person only rather than outsourcing it', and missing commas after introductory phrases like 'So'. While these errors occasionally cause minor difficulty for the reader, they rarely completely impede the overall communication of ideas.
