Student answer (Band 5.5)

In this contemporary era, i believe that people hire somebody to do thinks which some people do not want to do for instance household chores or looking after children. This essay will discuss both perspective before presenting my own opinion.

To commence with, the predominant one is increase job oppounities. To elaborate it , when people don't want to do household chores they will hire people to do it due to which the number of jobs has been increased where unemployment will decrease. Consequently, that helps to increase the economy rate of countries.

On the other hand , if people should do these things themsleves it will save money and build good relationship with their children. To explicate it, people teach properly to their children for example how to communicate with elder people as well as instead of paying monthly pay to hire worker they can invest that money for their future expensives. Therefore , they will not facing any kind of problem in future.

In conclusion, although when people hire worker to do household thinks it would be beneficial for countries because it helps to decrease the unemployment rate yet I believe that if people do thinks by themseleves it would helpful for us because we have save money and build good relationship with their children whereas it helps us in future because government should not provide proper livehood.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt only partially, fulfilling the requirement to discuss both aspects of the question—whether it provides work and whether people should do these tasks themselves—but the ideas remain limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion on increasing job opportunities is simplistic, stating only that hiring people for chores increases jobs and helps the economy without deeper exploration of broader socio-economic impacts. Furthermore, the position taken by the writer in the introduction and conclusion is not always entirely clear or logically consistent. Additionally, it is important to note that the length requirement of 250 words has not been met, as the essay contains only 229 words, which slightly impacts the overall completeness of the task.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay demonstrates some organisation with a recognizable overall arrangement, utilizing basic paragraphing to separate the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, there is a lack of clear overall progression between the ideas, making the logical flow feel somewhat disjointed. Cohesive devices are used, but they tend to be mechanical and repetitive, such as 'To commence with', 'To elaborate it', and 'On the other hand'. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, such as the ambiguous pronoun use in the conclusion where 'we have save money' abruptly shifts the perspective from third-person to first-person plural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited but minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'contemporary era' and 'unemployment', but this is offset by noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, and spelling throughout the text. Examples include 'oppounities' instead of 'opportunities', 'monthly pay' instead of 'monthly wage', 'future expensives' instead of 'future expenses', and repetitive use of the word 'thinks' instead of 'things'. These lexical limitations and errors cause occasional difficulty and distraction for the reader.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader, including problems with subject-verb agreement and article usage, such as 'increase job oppounities', 'the number of jobs has been increased where unemployment will decrease', and 'they will not facing any kind of problem'. Punctuation errors are also present, such as inconsistent capitalization at the beginning of sentences and problematic spacing around commas.
