Student answer (Band 6.0)
In many countries , people pay others to do house hold work like cleaning, cooking or taking care of children because they are busy or they do not like to do it. This essay will discuss if this is a good way to give jobs and if people should do these works by themselves.
On the one hand, paying someone to do these jobs is a good way to provide employment. Many people ,espically from poor background or villages, do not have high education but they can do cleaning or babysitting. For example,in Pakistan many women work as maids in house and they earn money for their family. Also, if a family hires a driver,it creates a job and helps to reduce unemployment. Another benefit is that busyparents can focus on their office work and earn more money, so it is a win-win or both sides.
On the other hand, there are some disadavantages if people always pay others.First, children need time with their parents. If parents always give children to a babtsitter, the bonding between parents and children become weak. The child may feel lonely. Second, doing household chores is good for health and teaches responsibility. If a person never cleans his house,he become lazy. Also, sometimes maids are not trust worthly and there can be problems of theft or child safety.
In conclusion, I think paying for household help is good for providing jobs, but people should not depend totally on others. They should try to do some chores themelves, especially looking after their own children, and hire help when it is really necessary.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
The response addresses all parts of the task, discussing both whether paid help is a good way to provide employment and whether people should handle these chores themselves. The position is clear throughout the essay. The ideas presented are generally relevant, satisfying the requirements for a solid mid-range score. However, some parts of the response are more fully developed than others; for instance, the point regarding employment creation in Pakistan is clearly supported with a specific example, whereas the discussion on health and responsibility is somewhat under-developed, relying on brief statements like 'he become lazy' without deep extension. To reach a higher band, all ideas would need to be thoroughly explored and supported with more consistent depth and elaboration across every body paragraph.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with a clear logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and conclusion. Each paragraph has a distinct focus: paragraph two explores the benefits of employment, paragraph three examines the disadvantages, and the final paragraph provides a balanced summary. Cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' are used to structure the text, though referencing and transitional links occasionally feel slightly mechanical or repetitive. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct themes. To move beyond this level, referencing could be managed more flexibly to ensure smoother transitions between sentences and ideas without relying on formulaic connectors.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, successfully communicating ideas about employment, childcare, and household chores. There are attempts to use less common vocabulary, such as 'unemployment', 'responsibility', and 'trust worthly' (trustworthy), but these are accompanied by some noticeable errors in word form, spelling, and word choice, such as 'house hold', 'busyparents', and 'disadavantages'. While these lexical inaccuracies do not seriously impede communication, they reflect the limits of the vocabulary control at this stage. To achieve a higher band, the writer needs to demonstrate greater precision in word choice, better control of spelling and collocations, and a wider range of sophisticated lexical items used accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
The writing demonstrates a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating structures such as conditional and concessive clauses (e.g., 'If a person never cleans his house, he become lazy'). There are some errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing articles ('from poor background'), subject-verb agreement issues ('bonding... become weak', 'he become'), and spacing errors around commas and periods. Nevertheless, these grammatical slips are relatively controlled and rarely impede overall communication. To reach the next level, the writer would need to produce a higher frequency of error-free sentences using a wider variety of complex structures with consistent accuracy in punctuation and articles.
