Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, people are busy in their day-to-day life because of work or maybe have some other responsibilities. So, citizens hire somebody to do things such as household chores or looking after children. In my view, this is a good way of provide work for others.

To begin with, in this global village, everyone has to work hard to get a good lifestyle. In order to afford everything for their children, both parents have to work full-time. As a result, they have to hire a nanny for their kid so that nanny could take care of a kid while parents are not available at home. Also, nanny could fulfill her family's expectations.Furthermore, people want to chase their dreams and they want to become independent regardless of gender. For this independent life, they have to focus on their career, as a result they have to hire somebody to complete household chores. For example, one of my cousins hire a whole day maid at his home so that he does not have to do any household work after work.

Well, people can do these all things by themselves too. Firstly, people should have a good time management skill. Secondly, people should be disciplined so that they can take care of their things by themselves. Apart from this, citizens are willing to do things by themselves. For example, if a person has a good time management skill he/she can manage household chores as well as office work.

To conclude, it is a good way to some extent to hire someone for things people don't have time to do. However, people always have choice to sort out everything.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you consider hiring help a good way to provide work, while acknowledging that people can manage these tasks themselves. You address both questions and give relevant examples, including parents hiring a nanny and your cousin employing a maid. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The benefits of paid work are explained through employment and career demands, but the case for doing chores personally is mostly limited to time management and discipline. The conclusion also says people have a choice without clarifying when doing tasks themselves may be preferable. Explain the advantages and drawbacks more fully, and connect each example directly to your reasoning.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting paid help, a paragraph on doing tasks oneself, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Firstly,” and “To conclude” help identify the stages of the argument. At times, however, linking feels mechanical, and some relationships between ideas are not fully clear. For example, “Also, nanny could fulfill her family's expectations” is not clearly connected to the previous point about parents working. The transition “Well” is informal, and the final sentence introduces a broad claim rather than drawing together the discussion. Use clearer references and explain how each point supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “household chores,” “nanny,” “full-time,” “career,” and “time management.” There are also attempts at less common expressions, such as “global village” and “chase their dreams,” though these are not always the most precise or natural choices in this context. Some word-choice and collocation problems reduce fluency: “a good way of provide work” and “a whole day maid” do not express the intended meaning naturally. Repetition of “people,” “things,” and “good” also limits flexibility. Aim for more precise phrases such as “domestic tasks,” “employ a full-time cleaner,” and “create employment opportunities,” while checking that expressions fit the point being made.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses of purpose and result: “so that nanny could take care of a kid” and “As a result, they have to hire a nanny.” Meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “a good way of provide” needs a gerund after “of,” and “one of my cousins hire” has a subject–verb agreement error. Articles and number are also inconsistent in “nanny” and “a kid,” while “people should have a good time management skill” needs a plural noun. Punctuation and spacing need attention, particularly the missing space after “expectations.” Review verb forms, articles, and singular/plural agreement, then proofread each sentence.
