Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, majority of the population hire paid assitants to get assistance with their day-to-day tasks or to take care of their kids. A group of people argue that is it good way to provide employment to others or one should do his own duties. In my opinion there should be a balanced approach when it comes to get help from others, instead of completely relaying on others for your things. In this essay, I will discuss some possible reasons in the upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, my first most significant reason is in the favour of getting paid help from other is that; thesedays almost all the members in a family are employed full-time or part to meet the increasing demand of expenses. As a result, hiring someone to handle domestic chores makes it easier to get enough rest after a long day of work. For example, an average single person who lives far away from his family and works 9 to 5 job, spends 2 hours to travel for work and then after an exhausting day at work he have to prepare dinner for himself, which will roughly take 1hour. The person might end up making something unhealthy to save time, But if he hire a maid to help with daily chores it will make his life easier. Which eventually lead to healthy balanced life-style.
Secondly, If people hire helpers for small tasks such as household chores or babysitting, it will create job opportunities for the unskilled or uneducated people and provides them with chance to earn some money to manage there expenses. For instance, there are many unprivilleged people in India who do not have any degree to get a corporate job. So in this situation they can earn money by doing basic household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and babysitting.
On the other side, individuals should not completely rely on others to do their work, it can make them lethargic and obese. For example, there are some people who work remotely and works for 4-5 hours a day but still earns six figure salary. After work they have plenty of time to some household chores but they depend on household help to do basic task as well, eventually which result in obesity and laziness. Furthermore, parents should not leave up bringing of the kids on babysitters, because no matter how skilled they are, but they cannot replace parents. Moreover, this approach affect relationship between parents and child.
To conclude with, it can be beneficial to get help from others but only if it is done in moderation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear throughout: you support paid help when it is used in moderation, while arguing that people should retain some responsibility themselves. You address both questions with relevant reasons, including employment for people with limited qualifications, workers’ need for rest, and the importance of parental involvement. The examples about a single worker and job opportunities in India help extend your points. This fits a response that addresses all parts and supports its ideas. To strengthen development further, explain more precisely how paid domestic work provides reliable or fair employment, and qualify broad claims such as household help leading to obesity. The point about children is relevant, but its effect on family relationships could be explained in more detail.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two paragraphs supporting paid help, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. The progression from practical benefits to employment and then to possible drawbacks is easy to follow. Signposts such as “To begin with,” “Secondly,” and “On the other side” make the stages visible, though the linking can feel somewhat formulaic. Some connections within sentences are less smooth: the example about preparing dinner is followed by a fragment beginning “Which eventually lead…,” and the conclusion repeats the moderation position without drawing the main reasons together. At this level, the organisation is coherent, but clearer sentence-to-sentence links and more precise referencing would make the flow more consistently natural.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range for the topic, including phrases such as “domestic chores,” “job opportunities,” “unskilled,” “rely on others,” and “relationship between parents and child.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some topic-specific vocabulary helps avoid excessive repetition. However, several spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, including “assitants,” “relaying” where you mean relying, “unprivilleged,” and “there expenses.” Some collocations are also awkward, such as “in the favour of getting paid help” and “manage their expenses” in this context. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling carefully; this would make your vocabulary more accurate and natural while preserving the useful range already present.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex structures, including conditional reasoning (“if he hire a maid…”) and clauses introduced by “because” and “although”-type contrasts. The meaning is generally understandable, but errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries occur across the response. Examples include “majority of the population hire,” “he have to prepare,” “if he hire,” and “this approach affect.” There are also fragments or faulty joins, notably “Which eventually lead to…” and “Furthermore, parents should not leave up bringing… because… but…”. These errors make control uneven, even though the main message remains clear. Review subject–verb agreement and practise combining dependent clauses into complete sentences, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
