Student answer (Band 5.5)

The topic of paying somebody to do things you dont want to do, or dont have time to do, for example, household chores or looking after children has become a topic of disscusion for many. In my opion, its a personal choice of each person to make that decision .

The positive side of this discussion, this will providing employeement for others, which will help them earn money to fullfill their finacial needs. In reality, I'm a busy working mom, I find very little time to be with my babay girl, she is 4 years old and always want to be around me. I have to juggle, between both job, personal life and a family responsibilities. At times, I get tired. No enegry to play with my child.

We discussed this as a family, carefully assessed what work we can outsource to get more qulity time to be with my child for example: preparing food, cleaning the house and taking care of hygin of the house. We reached out to humble family lived near by and asked for help. Ms. Pramila agreed to joing our family help us with house works for 5000 INR per month as salary. She used this money to pay her daughter tution fee. I was happy to spend more time with my daughter and Pramila was able to provide a better education for her daughter.

Some people think these things should be done by themsevles that keeps the family happy to do things together. Perhaps, it was not a practical advise in my case therefore I choose to take help in exchange of money by providing work for another women in my community.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and maintain a clear position: you see paid help as a personal choice and support it when it suits a family’s circumstances. The account of hiring Pramila is relevant and gives a concrete example of how the arrangement provides work and benefits both households. However, the second question receives less development: the view that doing chores together can keep a family happy is mentioned briefly, but not explained or weighed against your own experience. The opening also repeats the topic rather than setting out your reasons. To strengthen the response, explain more fully when people should do tasks themselves and why, then connect that reasoning to your conclusion. The response meets the task’s length requirement; 12 words copied from the prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces your view, explains the employment benefit, gives a personal example, and ends by acknowledging an alternative opinion. The family story also progresses in a generally understandable sequence. Some links between ideas are less clear or mechanical, however. For example, “The positive side of this discussion, this will…” does not form a clear transition, and “We discussed this as a family” follows the description of your exhaustion without explicitly showing how the discussion led to the decision. The final paragraph introduces the opposing view but moves quickly back to your own choice. Use clearer topic sentences and linking phrases that show cause, contrast, and consequence, and make the relationship between each paragraph’s main point and your position more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including relevant terms such as “outsource,” “assessed,” “salary,” and “provide a better education.” The personal example makes the meaning of these words clear. However, spelling errors are noticeable, including “disscusion,” “employeement,” “finacial,” and “hygin,” and some word choices or combinations are awkward, such as “family help,” “house works,” and “a better education” in this context. These issues make the language less precise and can slow the reader, even though the overall message remains understandable. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for domestic work and employment; for example, “hire a domestic worker” and “household chores” are more natural choices.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including the relative clause in “Ms. Pramila agreed to…” and the contrast introduced by “Perhaps.” Most of the intended meaning can be followed, but grammatical errors recur and sometimes make sentences difficult to process. For example, “this will providing employment” has an incorrect verb form, while “I have to juggle, between both job, personal life and a family responsibilities” has problems with sentence structure, number, and articles. “Some people think these things should be done by themselves that keeps the family happy” also needs a clearer clause structure. Practise accurate verb patterns and sentence boundaries, and proofread articles, plurals, and agreement. More reliable control of these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
