Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's era, life is like a rollercoaster. Managing everything from morning to night is becoming impossible in today's busy and hectic life. Full time job market has made it difficult to manage house chores without some extra help.

Working mothers have very hectic routine, it is difficult for them to manage everything on their own without any external help. However, it is important to give adequate wage per hour to a person coming for help.Getting help not only helps giving others opportunity to work but it also help to improve the financial crisis of a country.

However, there is no harm in doing your household chores youself. If somebody is physically fit and active, it is recommended to do your work yourself without any dependence on anybody else. Physical activity like this helps a person to stay active.

Furthermore, hirring somebody to do work for you also helps run their household and it may lead to less crime rate in society. For instance, in asian countries almost everybody is keeping house help for multiple purpose however, this trend is not so common in western countries.

From my perspective, there is no harm in asking help but under certain conditions. Firstly, underage kids should not be employed for house help as their education is more significant. Secondly, minimum wage decided by government should be granted to employees. Lastly, work should be given according to their working capacity.

In conclusion, taking an assistance will not only help an individual but it also bring resourses to needy people, that will eventually help them to work harder and sincerely.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions: you explain that hiring help can provide employment and support workers’ households, while also noting that people who are fit may do chores themselves. Your position is clear in the final paragraph, where you support hiring help subject to conditions such as fair wages and not employing children. These are relevant points, but some are less fully developed than others. For example, the claim that domestic employment may reduce crime is asserted rather than explained, and the comparison between Asian and Western countries is broad and not clearly connected to your argument. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example, and make the balance between hiring help and doing chores oneself clearer throughout.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the issue, considers the benefits of hiring help and doing chores independently, sets out conditions, and concludes with your view. Paragraphing helps the reader follow these stages, and transitions such as “However,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” signal changes in direction. At times, though, cohesion feels mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. The sentence about Asian and Western countries, for instance, follows the point about crime without explaining how the comparison supports it. Some references are also vague, such as “this trend.” Use linking phrases to show the precise relationship between claims, and ensure each paragraph develops one connected line of reasoning.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “external help,” “adequate wage,” “financial crisis,” and “working capacity.” These choices allow you to discuss employment, household responsibilities, and conditions for workers. There are also attempts at more expressive language, such as “life is like a rollercoaster,” although this opening is rather general and does not add much to the argument. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, including “helps giving others opportunity to work,” “keeping house help,” and “bring resourses to needy people.” Spelling errors such as “hirring,” “youself,” and “resourses” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural, precise phrases and check spelling carefully; for example, use “employing domestic workers” rather than “keeping house help.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If somebody is physically fit and active…” and a relative clause in “a person coming for help.” Meaning is generally clear, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “it is important to give adequate wage per hour to a person” needs an article before “adequate wage,” while “it also help” and “it also bring” have subject–verb agreement errors. The sentence beginning “Working mothers have very hectic routine” also needs an article and clearer punctuation between its clauses. Improve accuracy by checking articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, while continuing to use a mix of sentence structures.
