Should people do these things themselves?

Student answer (Band 6.0)

People prioritize their task based on requirements. They often outsource their work to focus on important things. People usually ask for help to their friends, family and relatives, but in some occassions, they also ask for help from communities if none of their family members and relatives are available. From my perspective, this development provide work opportunities to the people in our society.

To begin, there are positive consequences for outsourcing less important tasks such as housekeeping, cleaning and babysitting. Person who have hired can focus on improtant task such as office work or meeting without worrying about household chores. This can release the burden and stress from his shoulder and they will be able to do better in meeting and office work. Overall, this is beneficial for both employer and employee because employee can earn money from temporary task and gain valuable experience and contacts, whereas employer can pay attention to other useful things.

On the other hand, people should try to do things by their own because hiring outsider may exploit their safety and security of the house and there are chances that people who have completed assignments does not meet your quality standard. This usually happen for temporary task because employer may have no idea about the performance of another guy. However, due to time constraint, they may have to do it sometimes.

To sum up, despite their busy schedule, people should try to do it by themselves. However, they should not force themselves to stay at home and spend time in unimportant things, they should in fact prioritize their work.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and give a clear overall view: outsourcing can create work, but people should also try to manage tasks themselves. The first body paragraph explains benefits for both parties, including allowing the employer to focus on work and giving the worker income and experience. You also raise relevant concerns about home security and whether the work meets expectations. However, these concerns are only briefly explained, and the conclusion introduces a somewhat unclear distinction between doing tasks personally and prioritising work. To strengthen the response, develop the drawbacks with a specific example and clarify when hiring help is justified versus when people should do tasks themselves.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs and a conclusion. Transitions such as “To begin,” “On the other hand” and “To sum up” make the main stages easy to follow. Within paragraphs, however, some connections are less clear or repetitive. For example, the first paragraph moves from outsourcing to asking relatives and communities before stating the position, which delays the focus on the question. In the final paragraph, “However” introduces a contrast that is not fully explained, and “they” could refer to more than one group. Improve progression by keeping each paragraph focused on one main point and using clearer references between sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “outsource,” “time constraint,” “temporary task,” and “safety and security,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as “valuable experience and contacts.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “ask for help to their friends,” “release the burden,” and “exploit their safety.” Spelling errors such as “occassions” and “improtant” also reduce accuracy. Aim to learn common word partnerships and check spelling carefully; more precise phrasing would make your argument clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “although” in the conclusion and a sentence comparing benefits for employer and employee. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “this development provide” needs subject–verb agreement, while “Person who have hired” has problems with the article and agreement. In “people who have completed assignments does not meet,” the plural subject does not match the verb. Pronoun reference also shifts between “his” and “they” when discussing one person. Review agreement, articles and consistent pronouns, and proofread longer sentences to ensure each clause is grammatically complete.
