Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays it is common for people to pay someone to do things that they don't have time to such as household chores or looking after the children. In my opinion this is a good way to provide work for others but people should still do something for themselves.
There are several benefits of hiring people to help you at home the main advantage of this is that can create many jobs for many people. For example many work as a housemaids, drivers or nannies here in the Philippines this help them earn money and support their respective families. Another advantage of this is saves time for busy people for example many parents works all day in the office and don't have enough time to clean the house or take care of their children but if they hire someone they can focus on their jobs.
However i also think that people should do things by themselves doing household chores can help children become independent and responsible. If parents always pay someone to do everything their children will not know how to do basic household chores or cooking. And spending time with your children is also very important. If parents let someone to take care of their children all the time they may not have a close relationship with them.
In conclusion i think paying people to do household chores and taking care of their children is good because it provides jobs for them and saves time. However i believe people should still do some chores and spend time with their children to keep it balance.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your response addresses both questions and maintains a clear position: paying others can provide employment and save time, while people should still do some tasks themselves. You support the first view with relevant examples of housemaids, drivers and nannies in the Philippines, and explain how household responsibilities can teach children independence and help parents maintain close relationships with them. These points are relevant and extended with reasons, which gives the response a clear, developed answer. To strengthen it further, explain the limits of your position more precisely—for instance, which tasks are reasonable to outsource and which are important for family members to do themselves. The conclusion also repeats the main points rather than drawing them together into a more considered final judgement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 7.0
The essay has a clear overall progression: the introduction states your position, the second paragraph explains the benefits of hiring help, the third presents reasons for doing tasks oneself, and the conclusion summarises both sides. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “However” and “In conclusion” help readers follow this structure. The main improvement is to make connections within paragraphs smoother and more precise. For example, the opening of the benefits paragraph runs several ideas together, and “Another advantage of this” refers back somewhat vaguely. Use clearer sentence boundaries and more specific referencing, such as naming the benefit again. The final phrase “to keep it balance” also leaves the concluding idea unclear; state directly that this helps maintain a balance between paid help and family involvement.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your ideas, including “household chores,” “nannies,” “independent,” “responsible” and “close relationship.” These choices make the examples relevant and generally easy to understand. However, the range is limited, with repeated general phrases such as “do things,” “people” and “good,” and some word forms or collocations are inaccurate. For example, “many work as a housemaids” and “this help them earn money” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Aim to use more precise terms for paid domestic work and the benefits it provides, while checking whether a noun is singular or plural and whether a phrase is idiomatic. Greater variety and more accurate collocations would make the argument sound more fluent and assured.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If parents always pay someone to do everything, their children will not know…” This helps you explain consequences, and the overall meaning is usually clear. However, errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence boundaries occur often enough to limit accuracy. Examples include “many parents works,” “this help them,” and “this is saves time”; the opening of the second paragraph also joins clauses without suitable punctuation. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and ensuring each clause has a complete, correctly formed verb. Use commas after introductory phrases and separate independent clauses with a full stop or an appropriate conjunction. More consistent control of these basics, alongside your complex sentences, would improve clarity.
