Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, the number of businesses are increasing day by day provide jobs to educated people. Therefore, some people do not have enough time to do houshold chores and they hire others to to their chores which includes cooking, cleaning, looking after children and their grandparents. Eventually, they give work opportunites to others makes it a circular process. From my perspective, this is a good way of providing work for others. There are several reasons behind this.

The primary resaon is getting more time to spend with the family. For example, people work for whole day, as they come home have to do houshold chores and do not get enough time to spend with their family. If cooking and cleaning would be done before they come home from job or their own business, they can help their children in study as well as can spend time with their grandparents. Additionally, people feel tired after work, so they can rest for some time which would help them to better focus on their health.

Recent study demonstrates that approximately 70% people have health issues because they do not have rest in their whole day. The University of Alberta also published a paper in which they mentioned that people do not like to work in their house due to tiredness.

Some people like to do their work by themselves but they do not have choice. As people prefer to live in nuclear families, they do not have anyone at home to take care for their children. Therefore, they hire others to look after them.

In conclusion, nuclear families, hectic schedule, workload and choice for not do work, health are the factors which contributes to the success for increase in job numbers.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear: you consider hiring help a good way to provide work, and you give relevant reasons, especially that it frees time for family and rest. The example about parents getting help with children also relates to the prompt. However, the task asks both whether this creates useful work and whether people should do these tasks themselves. The second question receives only brief, indirect treatment in the paragraph about nuclear families, so the response addresses the task partially. The claims about a study and the University of Alberta are not explained or connected clearly to your argument. To strengthen the response, discuss when doing chores oneself may be preferable, then develop and support both sides of your position with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “For example,” “Additionally,” and “Therefore” help show relationships between ideas, and the main argument is generally understandable. However, progression is uneven: the paragraph about research interrupts the explanation of family time and rest, while the point about people having “no choice” is introduced briefly and not developed. The conclusion lists several factors rather than clearly summarising the argument, and “which contributes” has an unclear reference. Group related points together, use each paragraph to develop one main idea, and make references and transitions more precise to create a clearer overall progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “household chores,” “nuclear families,” “workload,” and “health issues.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “Recent study demonstrates” and “From my perspective.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, which can make parts less natural: “choice for not do work” and “success for increase in job numbers” are difficult to interpret. Spelling errors such as “houshold,” “opportunites,” and “resaon” are noticeable. Build a more precise range for discussing employment and domestic responsibilities, and check spelling and common word partnerships before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mixture of simple and complex sentences, using clauses with “because,” “if,” and “which,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors occur frequently, including in basic sentence patterns and agreement. For example, “the number of businesses are increasing” has subject–verb disagreement, and “they hire others to to their chores” contains a faulty verb construction. The conditional “If cooking and cleaning would be done” is also not formed correctly, while “people work for whole day, as they come home have to do” lacks a clear grammatical connection. These errors sometimes make the reader pause. Practise accurate clause construction, verb forms, articles and agreement, then proofread each sentence for a complete subject and verb.
