It is sometimes possible to pay somebody to do things you don't want to do, or don't have time to do, for example, household chores or looking after children.

Is this a good way of providing work for others?

Should people do these things themselves?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Student answer (Band 5.5)

It has always been a matter of debate whether we should pay to someone to do our work or individuals are responsible to do their things by themselves. In my opinion, everyone should make a balance between work and responsibilties. In this essay, we will discuss the main reasons associated with both tghe statements.

On the one hand, the first and foremost concern is that individuals have to focus on their future by working in the office or working on their goals. To explain, people have to be bounded in their fixed daily routine especially in the working hours, where they have to spend most of the time. Hence, they have to hire somebody, who can finish those jobs for them and at the same time, other tasks are getting done by somebody. For example, it has been noticed that businessmen always hire a professional cook to make their meals on time because they have limited time for each and every task and they prefer to devote that time to grow their business. Moreover, giving work to somebody else is beneficial for country as well because this strategy may help to decrease the unemployment rate in numerous ways.

On the other hand, the first and major reason is the trust issue. To elaborate, some of the specific duties that should be done by own instead of giving somebody as people can not expect the quality of work, which are getting done by somebody. Consequently, the trust issue can arise among two person. For example, if anyone is hiring babysitter for their children, buy they can not trust that what they will teach to their children.

To sum up, individuals should take those decision with carefully and they should try to do important stuff by their own instead of giving to their worker to avoid any mistake.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both questions and give a broadly balanced position: paying others can help busy people and create employment, while some responsibilities are better handled personally. The examples of a cook and a babysitter are relevant. However, the position that people should “make a balance” is not fully clarified, and the conclusion shifts towards doing important tasks oneself without explaining how this fits with your earlier support for hiring help. The employment point is also asserted rather than developed, and the concern about childcare trust could be explained with a specific risk or consequence. Develop each main idea with clearer reasoning and make your final recommendation consistent with your discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two sides, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “To sum up” help readers follow the organisation. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and some links between ideas are unclear. For instance, “at the same time, other tasks are getting done by somebody” repeats the preceding point rather than extending it, while the connection between hiring workers and reducing unemployment is not explained. The final paragraph also introduces a stronger preference for doing tasks personally without linking it back to the balanced position. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make each sentence build on the previous one.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of task-related vocabulary, including “fixed daily routine,” “unemployment rate,” “trust issue,” and “professional cook,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are, however, noticeable errors in word choice, collocation, word forms, and spelling. Phrases such as “bounded in their fixed daily routine,” “do their things by themselves,” and “take those decision with carefully” are not natural or precise. The misspellings “responsibilties” and “tghe” also reduce accuracy. Aim for common, accurate collocations before trying more elaborate expressions; for example, describe people as “tied to a demanding work schedule” and say they should “make decisions carefully.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “because,” “where,” and “who,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and verb forms. For example, “some of the specific duties that should be done by own” is an incomplete construction, and “the quality of work, which are getting done” has faulty agreement and an awkward clause structure. In “if anyone is hiring babysitter,” the article is missing, while “they can not trust that what they will teach” uses an incorrect clause pattern. Practise building complete sentences and checking agreement and clause structure, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
