Student answer (Band 6.0)

Hiring individuals for performing personal and household works has been gaining popularity in today's world. I personally believe it is beneficial if somone is getting paid for doing others tasks. Although, everyone should be responsible for doing their own duties and responsibilities, I feel sometimes people need a break for themselves, or may be physically disabled.

One of the major advantages of assigning tasks to others is allowing yourself to be completely free and relax. People might not be available somedays to finish their important tasks, which leads them to hire someone to assist them with their works. This approach provides a chance to unemployed person for earning money by working for others. Secondly, senior citizens are not fully capable of performing their regular tasks, and require support for their personal works or looking after them. So, paying somebody to do things allows to create job opportunities for the jobless person.

It is always better to perform tasks by oneself, as it gives a sense of satisfaction and fulfillment. In addition to that, doing duties ourselves saves a lot of money and requires no training. However, it is okay to hire someone when people feel bored, or have busy schedule. Not everyday is a Sunday, person can be unwell somedays, so at that point of time, this can be fruitful. For instance, many people working night shifts hire baby sitter to look after their children, which lets them to go to their workplace without any stress.

Therefore, I firmly believe being responsible towards responsibilities until one is not stressed out is fruitful, or else paying for a help can be considered.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both questions and give a clear, balanced position: paid help can create work and support people who need assistance, while doing tasks yourself can bring satisfaction and save money. The examples of senior citizens and night-shift workers hiring a babysitter make the discussion relevant. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that hiring help allows people to “be completely free and relax” could be qualified by explaining when this is necessary or beneficial. The view that people should do tasks themselves is also less developed than the case for hiring others. To strengthen the response, explain the conditions behind your final position and develop each main reason with a specific consequence or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting paid help, a paragraph discussing self-reliance, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “One of the major advantages,” “Secondly,” and “However” help signal the direction of the argument. Some connections are less smooth or precise, though. The second paragraph moves from having time to relax to unemployment and then to support for senior citizens, so the relationship between these points could be made clearer. The conclusion also introduces “until one is not stressed out,” which is difficult to connect to the earlier discussion. Use topic sentences that group related ideas and make references and transitions more explicit to create a more consistently logical progression.

Lexical Resource: Band 6.0

You use an adequate range of vocabulary for the topic, including “job opportunities,” “sense of satisfaction and fulfillment,” “physically disabled,” and “without any stress.” These choices help communicate the main ideas, and the meaning is generally clear. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “household works,” “their works,” “a chance to unemployed person,” and “paying for a help.” There are also spelling errors, including “somone” and “somdays.” Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling carefully; for example, use “household chores,” “a chance for an unemployed person,” and “paying for help.” This would make your vocabulary more precise and fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “Although,” “as,” and “which,” and most of your meaning remains understandable. Some grammatical errors occur, particularly with articles, agreement, and sentence construction. For example, “a unemployed person” needs an article that agrees with the following vowel sound, while “Not everyday is a Sunday, person can be unwell somedays” joins ideas without the necessary article and punctuation. In “which lets them to go,” the verb pattern is incorrect: “lets them go” is needed. The final sentence, “until one is not stressed out,” also creates an unclear grammatical relationship. Review articles, verb patterns, and sentence boundaries, then proofread complex sentences for clarity.
