IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Five months ago, you started renting an apartment on a six-month agreement. You now wish to stay in the apartment for longer than the six months you originally agreed with the owner.

Write a letter to the owner of your apartment. In your letter

• say how long you now want to rent the apartment for
• explain why your plans have changed
• tell the owner about a problem in the apartment

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Martin,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to extend my current lease to one more year which i am renting from five months.

I moved to this place five months ago for my job. Earlier i thought i'll be moving to another place and thus i agreed for six months lease. However, i got promoted in my department. So, i would like to extend my lease for further one year. Moreover, this location is very convenient for me as grocery shops, restaurants and park are nearby. Also, public transportation is easier for me from here.

Additionally, i would like to bring your attention to the maintenance issues in my apartment. The dishwasher is very noisy when it is in use. And the windows are loose which make noises during wind blow. And i got disturbed with those sounds.

I would appreciate if you inspect these issues and solve them at your early convenience.
