IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Five months ago, you started renting an apartment on a six-month agreement. You now wish to stay in the apartment for longer than the six months you originally agreed with the owner.

Write a letter to the owner of your apartment. In your letter

• say how long you now want to rent the apartment for
• explain why your plans have changed
• tell the owner about a problem in the apartment

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear David,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to extend our lease agreement timeline. Originally we signed a lease agreement of 6 months but now I wish to extend my stay for another 6 months. Actually I was planning to visit my parents in India, unfortunately my plan got cancelled and I had to delay my vacation. The apartment is located at really convenient location. All essential shops are at walking distance. Moreover, public transportation service is also good in this area. Because of all these facilities and convenient location, I wish to extend my stay for another 6 months.

The apartment requires minor repair. Actually the shower in washroom does not work properly. the handle of shower come off some time and it is really hard to put it back . Because of the bad shower handle, I cannot control water temperature . I believe shower handle needs a replacement. Please let me know if you need any other documentation from my side to extend our lease agreement.
