IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Five months ago, you started renting an apartment on a six-month agreement. You now wish to stay in the apartment for longer than the six months you originally agreed with the owner.

Write a letter to the owner of your apartment. In your letter

• say how long you now want to rent the apartment for
• explain why your plans have changed
• tell the owner about a problem in the apartment

Dear Owner,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter because I want to increase the lease agreement for the apartment where I am living now on rent.

Firstly, right now I am on six months lease agreement, which will be completed next month. So, I would like to stay in the apartment for another 2 years, so I want to extend the lease agreement from six months to two years.

Moreover, I completed my studies last week, and I got a job in this city at a multinational company. So, I have to stay for two years here because of the job. In addition, the company is also very close to this place, so it will be very easy for me to go to work.

I would like to inform you about one problem in the apartment. There is a problem with leakage in the bathroom, so I can't take a shower properly. Therefore, it is my request to you that you please solve this problem as soon as possible.

Thank you for your consideration. I expect a positive reply from you about the extension in the lease agreement.
