IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Five months ago, you started renting an apartment on a six-month agreement. You now wish to stay in the apartment for longer than the six months you originally agreed with the owner.

Write a letter to the owner of your apartment. In your letter

• say how long you now want to rent the apartment for
• explain why your plans have changed
• tell the owner about a problem in the apartment

Dear Mr.Shareef,

I am PriyaBhavana, one of your tenants from flat 205 B.I have been residing in your flat for 5 months now. I am writing this letter regarding the extension of my lease agreement.

As you know I moved here 5 months ago because of my new project which was initially assigned for 6 months. However the plans got changed and my project got extended for 1 more year and a condition was applied that I have to be present in this city until we finish the project. So, I would like to extend the lease for one more year, as this place is very close to my work area.This place is not only a great neighbourhood but also has good amenities when compared.I have been in good books with everyone and never caused a problem to anyone.Hope you will understand and get back to me with a positive answer.

I would also like to address an issue with the tap in the washroom. There is a leakage observed behind the pipe connecting the tap. Could you please get a plumber repair the tap when you have time?
