Five months ago, you started renting an apartment on a six-month agreement. You now wish to stay in the apartment for longer than the six months you originally agreed with the owner.

Write a letter to the owner of your apartment. In your letter

• say how long you now want to rent the apartment for
• explain why your plans have changed
• tell the owner about a problem in the apartment

Dear Mr Kapoor,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to request you if I could extend my tenancy agreement for another ten months after my current contract expired.

Actually, I want to renew my written agreement with you in order to stay in this apartment for more than six months. When I rented this apartment, I thought I will return to my hometown after completion of my training. However, recently I got full-time job in the cafe, which is close to my apartment. Also, I sign one year contract with them, hence, it is essential for me to stay here for my comfort and accessibility of public facilities make my decision more stronger.

From last few months, I witness problems in the kitchen and bathroom. Water is continuously dripping from the sink of the kitchen, which increase my cleaning process and makes the floor slippery and unsafe for walking. Additionally, blockage in the drainage system of bathroom address issues while I am take shower.

It would be appreciated if you could allow me to extend my tenancy agreement and resolve the drainage and water dripping issues in the apartment soon.
