IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Five months ago, you started renting an apartment on a six-month agreement. You now wish to stay in the apartment for longer than the six months you originally agreed with the owner.

Write a letter to the owner of your apartment. In your letter

• say how long you now want to rent the apartment for
• explain why your plans have changed
• tell the owner about a problem in the apartment

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

I hope you're doing well. I am writing this letter because i want to extend the lease agreement. Since I have been renting this apartment for 5 months already, I would like to extend my lease upto 1 year. Consequently, I would like the lease to be extended 7 more months.

Since I was here for the course which was of 6 months, I found out my internship will be taking place here as well. Moreover, the place of my internship is just 5 minute walk from the apartment.

Moreover, all the amenities and facilities are nearby.

Lastly, I want to address that the chimney in the kitchen area has stopped working since last week. I would really appreciate if you can send a maintainence guy to fix it or replace the chimney as it is quite old.
