dear sir/madam
I am writing this letter to express my interest to extend my lease agreement for a period of 12 month. I am already enjoying this place with respect to convenience to my work place and the supermarket.
As i got contract extension in my current job for another year, which would helpful for me to develop my skills further. Moreover, society in the building is so kind and generous which makes my family for comfortable and safe.
In addition, i would like to bring your attention towards the flooring of the apartment, as the grout from the tiles is ripping off and few of them are broken. i would greatly appreciate if you send a flooring professional to fix this issue as soon as possible. if everything is ok with you, please send me the new agreement paper so i can sign it and return it back on time.
i look forward to hearing from you.
yours faithfully

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The letter successfully addresses all three bullet points: the duration of the extension, the reason for the change in plans, and the maintenance issue. The tone is appropriate for a formal request to a landlord. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, though the development of the reason for staying could be slightly more detailed to reach a higher band. Overall, the purpose of the letter is clear, and the reader is fully informed of the writer's intentions and requirements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into distinct paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. The progression of ideas is clear, moving from the request to the justification and finally the maintenance issue. Cohesive devices such as 'Moreover', 'In addition', and 'As' are used to link sentences, although some transitions feel slightly mechanical. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the letter flows well from the opening to the closing, ensuring the reader can follow the writer's intent without difficulty.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their message clearly. There are some instances of slightly unnatural phrasing, such as 'society in the building' (referring to neighbors or the community) and 'ripping off' (which is informal). While the range is sufficient to communicate the requirements, it lacks the precision and variety of less common lexical items that would characterize a higher band. However, there are no significant errors that impede understanding.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as '12 month' (should be '12 months'), 'which would helpful' (missing 'be'), and 'makes my family for comfortable' (should be 'feel'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing capital letters for 'i'. While these errors are noticeable, they do not prevent the reader from understanding the message. A greater focus on subject-verb agreement and article usage would improve the accuracy.
