IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Five months ago, you started renting an apartment on a six-month agreement. You now wish to stay in the apartment for longer than the six months you originally agreed with the owner.

Write a letter to the owner of your apartment. In your letter

• say how long you now want to rent the apartment for
• explain why your plans have changed
• tell the owner about a problem in the apartment

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Mr. Singh,

I hope you are doing well. I am writing to extend my stay in an apartment longer than the original contract.

I have been living at 1580 apartment building for last five months. As per contract, I am allowed to live there up to 6 months, but now I want to stay longer there for one year.

I changed my plan because I enrolled in a crash course in an esteemed institute that is near to the building and its duration period is 6 months. So, if I am staying there for 6 more months, it can reduce my travel time to the institute as I planned to attend classes in person.

Although apartment is quite good in condition, I request that a few furniture should be added in the living area as it is hard to stay all the time in the room, so if there would be a comfortable sofa in the living area, I can relax whenever I have day off or extra free time.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I hope my request would be accepted and an appropriate furniture would be added.
