IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Five months ago, you started renting an apartment on a six-month agreement. You now wish to stay in the apartment for longer than the six months you originally agreed with the owner.

Write a letter to the owner of your apartment. In your letter

• say how long you now want to rent the apartment for
• explain why your plans have changed
• tell the owner about a problem in the apartment

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear madam,

How are you doing? I hope everything is fine. I am Kanika Singla staying in your apartment as a tenant from the last five months. I am writing this to make a request to extend my rent agreement from six months to one year.

I have been living here from the past five months and you have been a support to me since then. My plans have changed a bit and I want to lengthen my stay here for six months more. Therefore I urge to you to extend rent agreement till December.

Initially, I was planning to shift to a new job in Sydney as my family was also coming to join me but somehow it is not working in the same way I wished to. So I have to provide my services in the same company for the next few months.

Also I want to add that there is leak in one of the pipes of the bathroom of guest room and that requires an urgent repair. Kindly consider it urgent and take required action.
