You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear ....................................,
Student answer (Band 6.5)
Dear Sam,
I hope you are doing well.
I am writing this letter to extend my rent agreement to eleven-months from six-month.
I have been living in this apartment since last five-months and the stay here is much comfortable as compared to my previous rental properties. I would like to tell you that I have to extend the rent agreement for few months round about four-months.
The main reason why I have to extend my stay here is, my purpose of visiting this city is not yet completed and it will take a few more months so I have decided to stay at this place only because it is convenient for me to reach at my work place.
The apartment is well maintained by you. However, I have observed that the kitchen sink often overflows while doing the dishes. Would you please send a plumber to fix the sink.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Warm regards,
Leo.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have successfully addressed all three bullet points in the prompt. You clearly stated the desired extension period, provided a logical reason for the change in plans, and identified a specific maintenance issue regarding the kitchen sink. The tone is appropriate for a letter to a landlord, maintaining a polite and professional register throughout. The purpose of the letter is clear from the outset, and the information provided is relevant and sufficient to meet the requirements of the task. No parts of the prompt were omitted, and the ideas are developed well enough to ensure the reader understands your situation and request.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The letter is logically organized, with each paragraph focusing on a specific point from the instructions. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'However' and 'The main reason why' to transition between ideas. While the structure is clear, the flow could be improved by using a wider variety of linking words to connect sentences more fluidly. For instance, the transition between the request for an extension and the explanation of your plans is slightly abrupt. Paragraphing is used correctly, which helps the reader follow the progression of your request. Overall, the organization is coherent and easy to follow.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for this task, using terms like 'extend', 'agreement', 'maintained', and 'convenient'. However, there are some minor inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'round about four-months' and 'since last five-months', which sound slightly unnatural. You rely on fairly simple vocabulary, and while it is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, incorporating more precise or sophisticated expressions would elevate your score. For example, instead of 'much comfortable', 'significantly more comfortable' would be more accurate. The vocabulary is sufficient to communicate your needs effectively without causing confusion.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'eleven-months from six-month' (should be 'eleven months from six months') and 'reach at my work place' (should be 'reach my workplace'). Additionally, the use of hyphens in 'five-months' and 'four-months' is incorrect in this context. While these errors are noticeable, they do not impede communication, and the meaning remains clear throughout the letter. To improve, focus on subject-verb agreement and the correct use of articles and prepositions. The majority of your sentences are understandable, but more attention to detail is needed for higher accuracy.
