Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points, though the execution is inconsistent. You mention the desire to extend the lease and explain why your plans changed, citing convenience and location. However, the requirement to mention a problem in the apartment is handled poorly; you state 'No one problem to the apartment,' which contradicts the instruction to tell the owner about a problem. This suggests a misunderstanding of the task requirements. To improve, ensure you clearly invent a plausible issue, such as a leaking tap or a broken window, to fully satisfy the prompt's requirements.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter is divided into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is frequently disrupted by unclear phrasing and awkward transitions. Phrases like 'Whenever, I lived' and 'While I extend a plan' do not function as effective cohesive devices, making the text difficult to follow. The relationship between sentences is often strained, and the lack of clear, logical flow between the reasons for staying and the mention of the apartment condition makes the overall structure feel mechanical and disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

Your vocabulary is quite limited and often misused, which hinders clear communication. For example, 'precious' is an unusual choice for an apartment, and 'pretend to office' is unclear. You rely on basic descriptors like 'good' and 'nice' repeatedly. There is little evidence of the ability to use less common lexical items or precise collocations. To reach a higher band, focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to renting, such as 'tenancy agreement,' 'lease extension,' or 'maintenance issues,' and work on using adjectives that accurately describe your living situation.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the letter that often impede meaning. Issues include incorrect verb tenses ('I continued paid'), missing prepositions, and fragmented sentence structures ('I am writing for the agreement an apartment'). Many sentences are syntactically incorrect, such as 'that's reason we think change a plans.' While you attempt some complex ideas, the lack of control over basic grammar and sentence construction results in a high frequency of errors. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and basic sentence structure will significantly improve your clarity.
