Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.5

The response attempts to cover the required bullet points, but the execution is very confusing and contradictory. Regarding how long you want to rent the apartment for, you state that you originally rented it for 6 months, but it is unclear whether you want to extend beyond that or why you are complaining so heavily about the service and dust. You explain that your plans changed due to finding the apartment dusty and having bad cleaning services. Finally, you attempt to tell the owner about a problem in the apartment, mentioning 'very uncleared clean and very bad condition in the room and baths'. However, the logic is contradictory: after complaining that the apartment is dirty and the service is poor, you paradoxically state 'i decied changed your apartment' instead of wanting to stay longer. Due to these significant logical inconsistencies and under-developed ideas, the task is only partially addressed, corresponding to a band 4.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 4.0

The letter lacks logical organisation and clear progression. There are no proper paragraphs, and the ideas flow into one another without clear transition markers, making the text very difficult to follow. Cohesive devices are either missing or misused, such as 'On the other hand' which is used incorrectly at the beginning of the second sentence. Referencing is also faulty throughout the text, as seen in phrases like 'Whan i am comming in the apartment i saw is very dasting on the every things'. Furthermore, the letter lacks a proper closing and opening structure beyond the initial greeting. Overall, the arrangement of information is disjointed and confusing for the reader, placing it firmly at a band 4.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.0

Vocabulary usage is very basic, repetitive, and plagued by severe spelling errors that frequently strain the reader. Examples of basic and inaccurate word choices include 'writting', 'irnoviarment', 'cheeking', 'dasting', 'marbal', 'uncleared', 'cheep', and 'pullotion air'. The student attempts to use some less common words, but these attempts fail due to incorrect forms and inappropriate collocations, such as 'bad condition' and 'service is very cheep'. Because the vocabulary is highly restricted and errors repeatedly impede clear communication, the lexical resource is characteristic of a band 4.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.0

The response displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying heavily on basic, repetitive sentence patterns that are poorly constructed. There are frequent, heavy grammatical errors across almost every sentence, such as 'I am writting to letter', 'i lives in a apartment', 'i am cheeking the profile', and 'Whan i am comming'. Tense usage is particularly chaotic, jumping inappropriately between present and past tenses ('i lives', 'i decied', 'i am comming'). Punctuation and sentence boundaries are also poorly managed, resulting in run-on thoughts and sentences that frequently obscure the intended meaning. This level of grammatical control fits the band 4.0 descriptors.
