IELTS Writing Task 1 question

Five months ago, you started renting an apartment on a six-month agreement. You now wish to stay in the apartment for longer than the six months you originally agreed with the owner.

Write a letter to the owner of your apartment. In your letter

• say how long you now want to rent the apartment for
• explain why your plans have changed
• tell the owner about a problem in the apartment

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I have been living at Peasant Living apartments since last 6 months. Although I had signed the lease agreement for six months, I like the facilities available in the building such as Gymnasium and the public library. Having such amenities under one under not only saves my time but also convenient in harsh weather conditions. Earlier I was hired by my employer for short term contract, they changed my position from casual to permanent. Consequently, I want to stay here for next two years. Moreover, the building is 5 minutes away from my workplace. If I leave at others place, I have to drive at least 30 to 40 kilometres. I am not familiar with the city yet. Finally I would appreciate If you extend my contract. I hope you will understand my concern and solve it.
