Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response successfully addresses all parts of the task. You clearly mention how long you wish to rent the apartment for by stating you want to stay for 'forther more six months'. You also explain your change of plans regarding the move to London due to harsh weather in that city, and you inform the owner about a problem with the kitchen heater. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others; for instance, the explanation regarding the weather and the request for the extension are somewhat repetitive, and the mention of the broken heater is rather abrupt and under-developed. Nevertheless, all bullet points are covered adequately for this level.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

The text demonstrates a basic overall arrangement, but cohesion is often faulty and mechanical. The letter lacks proper paragraphing, as it is presented almost as a single continuous block of text with inadequate separation of ideas. Furthermore, cohesive devices are largely missing or inaccurate, and referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the repetitive use of 'this latter' and run-on sentences connected loosely with commas rather than appropriate conjunctions or full stops. To improve, you need to organise your ideas into distinct paragraphs for each bullet point and use a wider range of logical connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

Your vocabulary range is adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your message despite noticeable errors. You attempt some less common vocabulary, such as 'aggriment' and 'appartment', but these contain spelling errors. There are also instances of awkward word choice and collocation, such as 'keep this appartment' instead of 'renew my lease' or 'extend my tenancy', and 'cheak on this and replase this'. While these spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable, they do not seriously impede communication.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use a mix of simple and some attempted complex sentence forms, such as conditional or dependent clauses, but these are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, including missing capitalisation ('bosten', 'london'), incorrect verb tenses ('I am living', 'I was planing latter to move'), and run-on sentences due to a lack of proper punctuation and full stops. While these errors occur regularly throughout the text, the meaning remains mostly clear and communication is rarely impeded.
