Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response only partially addresses the task requirements and contains a major contradiction regarding the purpose of the letter, as you state both that you wish to stay longer and that you do not want to continue. Furthermore, the length requirement is not met, as the response contains only 123 words, falling short of the 150-word minimum. While you attempt to cover the bullet points by mentioning your plans, a change in your job situation, and a problem with rats, the ideas remain limited, underdeveloped, and confusing due to contradictory statements. To move forward, all parts of the prompt must be clearly addressed without confusion, maintaining a consistent position, and the required word count must be fully satisfied.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is some basic organization with an attempted greeting, body points, and a sign-off, but there is no clear overall progression of ideas, largely driven by the contradictory statements in the content. Paragraphing is minimal and formatting lacks conventional letter structure conventions. Cohesive devices are either missing or inaccurate, leading to choppy sentences and a lack of smooth transitions between your points about the job change and the apartment issue. To improve Coherence and Cohesion, you should use clear paragraph breaks for each distinct topic, employ standard letter-writing conventions, and link your sentences using appropriate cohesive devices to guide the reader logically through your message.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and minimally adequate for the task, with noticeable errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'apratment' instead of apartment, 'miltan' instead of Milton, and 'possiable' instead of possible. Expressions like 'take care' are basic. To achieve a higher band, you need to use a wider and more precise range of vocabulary, ensure correct word forms and spelling, and incorporate less common lexical items related to renting and accommodation with greater accuracy.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You demonstrate a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences with frequent errors in grammar and punctuation. There are frequent issues with verb forms and tenses, such as 'Hope your doing well' instead of 'I hope you are doing well', 'i am staying' instead of 'I have been staying', and 'since last 5 months' instead of 'for the last 5 months'. Capitalization of the pronoun 'I' is repeatedly missing, and punctuation is weak throughout. To improve your grammatical score, you should focus on mastering basic sentence structures, correct tense usage for time markers, capitalization rules, and punctuation control.
