Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three required points: you request a further six months, explain that your work contract has been extended, and report that the air conditioner fan is noisy. The reason for staying is relevant and supported by the detail that your office is nearby. This covers the task well, though some information is less fully developed: the request could state more clearly when the new rental period would begin, and the AC problem could include a direct request for repair. The letter’s purpose is clear throughout, and the polite closing helps establish an appropriate relationship with the owner. To strengthen the response further, make the requested action and timing explicit and develop the maintenance point with a specific request.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The ideas follow a sensible order: you introduce the lease extension, explain the change in your plans, raise the AC issue, and close with a request for a response. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points, and phrases such as “Moreover” signal a transition. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “As you aware” and “as you know” repeat the same reference to the owner, while the long sentence beginning “As you aware” combines several ideas without clear punctuation. The final request to stay is also not separated clearly from the closing. Use shorter, more clearly punctuated sentences and make references between ideas precise to improve the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough relevant vocabulary to communicate the main purpose, including “extend the lease,” “six months contract,” “functioning properly,” and “fan of AC.” However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce clarity or naturalness, such as “writting,” “amazion,” “judt,” and “alow.” Some phrases are also awkward for a formal letter: “increase it more six months” and “live here for next six months.” Choose standard rental and maintenance expressions, and check spelling carefully. More precise wording would make the request sound professional and help the reader understand the problem without effort.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the reader can generally understand the message. However, control is inconsistent, particularly in verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. Examples include “hope your doing great” (missing subject and incorrect possessive form), “before we have agreement” (tense and article problems), and “as it making a lot of noise” (missing auxiliary verb). The sentence about the work contract also joins several clauses without effective punctuation. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the main meaning remains recoverable. Practise accurate present and past forms, include subjects and auxiliary verbs, and divide long sentences into complete clauses.
