Student answer (Band 5.5)
Dear owner,
Hope this finds you well.
This is to bring into your notice that five months ago i started renting this apartment on a six month agreement. I am really pumped up to share that the amenities in the apartment are upto my convenient, especially the laundry.
I really like the warm behavior of the residents and amenities in the room like heater, warm water, oven and also the location is quite serene. Due to that i wish to stay here for a long time .
However i would like to share that as you know that i am associated with the organisation that demands a quit environment to work with so that they can serve better to their clients, i sometimes hear loudstep noises from the upper apartment and sometimes like someone is draging the furniture and that distracts me a lot.
i request you to pleadse alert them to stop this specially in the jihht time so that we can be more productive in a day and extend my contract as soo. as possible.
Regards,
Lakhvinder kaur

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You mention the apartment’s positive features and identify noise from the upstairs apartment as a problem, so the letter is relevant to the situation. However, the central request is not fully answered: “for a long time” does not say how much longer you want to rent, and “extend my contract as soo. as possible” gives no clear duration. The reason your plans have changed is also missing; liking the apartment explains why you want to stay, but not what has changed since you signed the agreement. The noise complaint is understandable, though the request to the owner could be more specific and polite. State a definite extension period, explain the change in your circumstances, and clearly ask the owner to address the noise.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable sequence: it introduces the tenancy, describes what you like, raises the noise issue, and closes with a request. Paragraph breaks help distinguish these points, and phrases such as “However” signal a change in direction. Some connections are unclear or repetitive, though. “Due to that” refers broadly to several positive features, while the later sentence beginning “as you know that” becomes difficult to follow because it combines your work situation, the noise, and its effect in one long structure. The final paragraph also joins the request about noise with the contract extension without a clear transition. Separate these purposes and use direct links between each idea to make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a reasonable range of topic-related vocabulary, including “six month agreement,” “amenities,” “serene,” and “distract,” which helps communicate the apartment context and the noise problem. There are also attempts at more formal expressions, such as “I would like to share,” but several choices are unnatural or inaccurate for a letter to a landlord. “Pumped up” is too informal, “upto my convenient” is not idiomatic, and “quit environment” appears to mean a quiet environment. Spelling errors such as “draging” and “pleadse” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and a consistently polite register; for example, describe the apartment as “convenient” and ask the owner to “contact the upstairs neighbours.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a reason clause beginning “Due to that” and a longer sentence explaining how noise affects your work. The main message is generally understandable, but errors in sentence construction and punctuation are noticeable. For example, “as you know that i am associated with the organisation that demands…” has an awkward clause structure, and the final request combines several ideas without clear sentence boundaries. Capitalisation is inconsistent (“i”), and punctuation is missing or misplaced in places, such as the space before the full stop in “long time .” Use shorter, complete sentences for the key requests, and check capital letters, commas, and full stops. This will make your meaning clearer while retaining some complex structures.
