Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
The letter gives several relevant reasons for wanting to remain, including feeling comfortable, being near the university, and having a quiet place to study. However, it does not state how much longer you want to rent the apartment, so a key task point is missing. It also does not clearly explain how your plans have changed; the reasons describe why the apartment suits you, rather than what has changed in your circumstances. The required apartment problem is not mentioned either: saying there is no water or electricity issue does not report a problem. To address the task more fully, state a specific extension period, explain the change in your plans, and describe one repair or maintenance issue.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5
Your ideas are mostly connected to the apartment and your reasons for staying, and phrases such as “because this place is now suitable for me” help show a relationship between points. However, the letter has no clear paragraph structure, and the reasons are presented as a long sequence rather than grouped into a logical progression. Several ideas repeat, particularly that the apartment is comfortable and convenient for university. The opening also does not clearly introduce the request, while the closing arrives without a distinct final paragraph. Organise the letter into short paragraphs—for example, request and changed plans, reasons, then the apartment problem—and use linking phrases to guide the reader.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary to describe the apartment and its benefits, including “university,” “disturbance,” “water supply,” and “roof.” This gives you enough language to communicate the general idea. However, spelling errors and inaccurate word choices are frequent, including “resquest,” “comformtable,” “eletercity,” and “noidse,” which can make the reader pause. Some expressions are also unnatural, such as “night seen” and “dry the clothess.” Aim to learn accurate spelling and common collocations for housing and rental letters. More precise phrases such as “extend the lease” and “a maintenance problem” would also help you express the task points clearly and appropriately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to connect ideas using clauses and reasons, for example, “because this place is now suitable for me,” and the reader can generally understand your main message. However, sentence boundaries and grammatical forms are often inaccurate. The opening, “In this letter i have my humble resquest,” is not formed as a clear, correct sentence, and “i can live in a rent apartment” has problems with articles and sentence structure. Capitalisation of “I” is also inconsistent, and several long sequences of ideas lack appropriate punctuation. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check articles, verb forms, and punctuation. Shorter, accurately controlled sentences would make your request easier to follow.
