Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You begin in an appropriate letter format and make a clear request to extend the rental, specifying October 2027. However, the task is only partially addressed: the explanation for the changed plans is unfinished (“perhaps my training is going to start next month end in”), and no problem in the apartment is mentioned. The dates and duration are also difficult to reconcile: you say the agreement ends next month, but refer to October 2026 and October 2027, then state “12 months in total.” The response is substantially below the required 150 words, leaving too little space to explain your plans and report the problem. Develop all three points clearly and complete the letter.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the letter: you open with a greeting, state your request, and use “Furthermore” to introduce another point. The sequence is understandable at first, but the final sentence stops mid-thought, so the reader cannot follow the explanation or see how it supports your request. “At the onset” also does not clearly signal the next point, and the dates and duration are presented without enough explanation to connect them. Use separate paragraphs for the extension request, the reason for your changed plans, and the apartment problem. Complete each idea and use linking expressions that show the relationship between points.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant rental vocabulary, including “extend my contract,” “rent,” and “training,” and the reader can identify the general purpose of the letter. However, the range is limited, and several spelling or word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand, such as “aparatament,” “upto,” and “nect month.” The phrase “according to my study” is also unclear for the intended meaning. Choose precise expressions for your circumstances, such as explaining that your training has been postponed or that you need to remain in the area. Proofread spelling and use natural collocations, for example, “extend the rental agreement” and “until October 2027.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning with “as” and a sentence introduced by “Furthermore.” However, errors in verb forms, articles, and sentence construction are frequent and sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. For example, “I am living … from last six months” needs a present perfect form, while “my contract will finished” needs a correctly formed future passive or active construction. The final sentence is incomplete, and punctuation spacing is inconsistent. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check tense choices when describing how long you have lived there and when the agreement ends.
