Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the three main points: you want to extend the rental, explain that your studies will continue, and report noise from a neighbour. The request for “the next six month” is understandable, and you give relevant reasons for wanting to stay, including the apartment’s comfort and its proximity to college. However, the problem is not fully clear: “I want a my room this change” seems to request a room change, but it is unclear whether you want to move rooms or ask the owner to address the noise. The extension request is also conditional (“If me no any face the difficult”), which makes your intended commitment uncertain. The response is five words below the required minimum. Develop the request and explain the problem more precisely to address the task more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The letter has a recognisable sequence: it introduces the rental extension, gives reasons for staying, then raises the noise issue and closes with a request. Paragraph breaks help separate these points. However, progression is weakened by repeated and sometimes confusing links, especially the two paragraphs beginning with “Because,” and repeated references to “my study” and “this apartment.” The relationship between the noise complaint and the request to change rooms is not made clear. Some sentences run together, such as the details about walking to college and the shopping centre, which makes the information harder to follow. Use one paragraph for the extension and its reasons, another for the problem and requested action, and clearer linking phrases to show how each idea connects.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the situation, including “agreement,” “comfortable,” “college,” “shopping centre,” and “noise.” These choices make the general purpose of the letter identifiable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the message difficult to interpret, such as “exdend,” “tenent,” “irritate,” and “respone.” Phrases including “I am letter this apartment owner” and “I want a my room this change” are not natural ways to express your meaning. Aim to learn complete collocations for formal requests, such as “extend my rental agreement” and “the noise is disturbing my studies.” Check spelling and choose precise words so the owner can understand exactly what action you are requesting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to communicate several connected ideas, including reasons for staying and the effect of the noise, but sentence structures are mostly simple and frequently inaccurate. Errors in verb forms and sentence construction appear in “I am letter this apartment owner” and “my study a extra six month.” Articles, agreement, and plurals are also problematic, as in “a six month” and “the next six month.” The conditional sentence “If me no any face the difficult” is difficult to understand because its subject and verb pattern are not controlled. These errors sometimes make the reader work to recover the intended meaning. Practise accurate basic patterns first—for example, “I would like to extend my agreement for six months because my studies will continue”—then add a few correctly formed complex sentences.
