Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
You address all three required points: you request a longer rental, explain that your final examinations make commuting difficult, and report problems with the heating and microwave. The reason for staying is relevant and supported by the apartment’s proximity to college, although the desired extension is unclear: “for more than eight months” could mean eight months in total or an additional eight months. The two maintenance issues are also compressed together, so the owner may not know whether both need attention or which is most urgent. To strengthen the letter, state a precise end date or rental period and explain each repair request clearly. The purpose is evident, but some details need fuller, more precise development.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The letter has a recognisable progression from the extension request, to the reason for staying, and then to apartment problems. Paragraphing helps separate these topics, and connectors such as “Due to this,” “Apart from this,” and “Moreover” guide the reader through the points. However, some links feel mechanical, and the final paragraph moves abruptly from the heating system to the microwave incident. The sentence beginning “Secondly” does not clearly show how the microwave problem relates to the first concern, while “I Pease if you send…” makes the request difficult to follow. Use a separate sentence for each repair and connect them with clear references, such as “In addition, the microwave…” This would make the overall progression smoother and cohesion less noticeable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use vocabulary relevant to renting and maintenance, including “renting agreement,” “final term examination,” “heating system,” and “technician,” so the reader can identify the main concerns. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “walking distance” and “loaded with facilities.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “appartment,” “recevied,” “live in this apartment,” and “loaded with facilities.” These sometimes make the message less fluent, even though its general meaning remains understandable. Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, “extend my rental agreement” and “the apartment is well equipped” would express your ideas more idiomatically.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including the explanation beginning “Due to this it would be difficult…” and the clause “because its very tidy.” This shows some range, and the main message is generally recoverable. However, errors in verb forms, sentence construction, articles, and punctuation recur. For example, “I was planing to moved” needs a consistent verb pattern, while “I Pease if you send techician” is not a complete, correctly formed request. Several sentences also run together after full stops or commas, making boundaries unclear. Practise reliable patterns such as “I had planned to move” and “Could you please send a technician?” Careful sentence separation and proofreading would improve accuracy while preserving your attempts at complex structures.
