Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address all three required points: you request a further year, explain that your plans changed because suitable alternatives are difficult to find, and report a plumbing problem. The purpose is clear, and the polite request suits a letter to a landlord. However, some details are less fully explained than others. “For further notice” makes the proposed rental period unclear, and the reason for staying is expressed awkwardly rather than showing specifically why this apartment meets your needs. The plumbing issue is identified, but you could describe its effect or urgency. Clarifying the exact extension dates and adding a little relevant detail to the explanation and repair request would make the response more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The letter has a coherent overall arrangement: it opens with context, moves to the extension request and changed plans, then raises the repair issue and closes politely. Paragraphing helps the reader distinguish these points, and the sequence is generally easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectation of an organised response and shows some of the stronger control associated with more flexible cohesion. However, links between ideas are sometimes abrupt, and phrases such as “I am Amina Tariq your client” and “I hope you will accept my request” do not connect smoothly to the surrounding information. Use clearer transitions and refer consistently to the apartment and proposed extension so the progression feels more natural.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main message, including “contract,” “tenant,” “plumbing issue,” and “repairs.” The tone is generally polite and appropriate for a landlord. However, the range is limited, and several noticeable spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the letter less clear or natural. Examples include “residental,” “undertrimental,” “repirable,” and “extent the contract”; “lack of amenities in other location” is also an awkward way to explain your reason. Choose familiar expressions accurately rather than attempting uncertain forms. More precise phrases for the rental period, the alternative accommodation, and the plumbing fault would improve clarity and control.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mixture of simple statements and some longer structures, such as “I was supposed to move … but due to …,” so there is an attempt to vary sentence forms. The main message remains understandable. Some grammatical and punctuation errors persist, however: “for period of six month” needs articles and plural agreement, while “I am Amina Tariq your client, who rented…” has unclear sentence structure. Missing spaces after full stops and commas also affect readability, as in “spirit.I” and “location,It.” Review articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries, and separate the introductory information into clear sentences. More accurate control of these patterns would make the letter easier to read.
