Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You identify two relevant reasons for buying local goods: they may cost less because imported products face taxes, and purchases can support the national economy. However, the response addresses the task only partially. It does not explain the second reason, give a relevant example, or answer whether this is a positive or negative trend; the opening only promises to discuss benefits. The response also contains 112 words, below the required 250, so several parts of the task remain undeveloped. To improve, state your view clearly and explain both reasons and your evaluation with specific supporting details—for example, how local purchasing supports jobs or producers, and whether those benefits outweigh any disadvantages of reduced choice or competition.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an introduction is followed by a paragraph giving reasons, and signposting such as “One of the main reason” and “Secondly” helps the reader recognise the sequence. The ideas are generally related to the topic. However, the response ends before a clear overall progression is established: there is no developed discussion of whether the trend is positive or negative and no conclusion. Some links are also awkward or unclear, particularly “customers buying to local goods to contribute in gonernment GDP.” Build separate paragraphs for the reasons and your evaluation, connect each claim to an explanation or example, and finish with a concise conclusion that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “imported goods,” “taxes,” “market,” and “GDP,” so the main subject is usually recognisable. However, the range is limited, and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the writing less natural, such as “recents years,” “local grown goods,” “bu iying,” and “contribute in gonernment GDP.” These are vocabulary issues rather than grammar problems. Aim for accurate, natural phrases and check spelling carefully. You could use expressions such as “locally produced goods,” “support the domestic economy,” and “avoid additional costs.” A broader set of precise terms would also help you explain the trend and its effects more fully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response attempts to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example, “In most of countries, govenment put lot of taxes on it, which make imported goods more expensive in the market.” This shows an effort to use subordinate clauses, but the range remains limited and errors occur frequently. Examples include “This trend have” instead of “This trend has,” “will be discuss” instead of “will be discussed,” and “customer prefer” instead of “customers prefer.” Articles and agreement also need attention in “In most of countries” and “One of the main reason.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add clauses while checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and articles.
