Recently, there are increase in purchase of locally produced goods than imported goods in some countries by consumers. It can be a positive or negative trend to the economy of that country.

One of the reasons why some individuals are choosing to buy locally made goods is because it strengthen the economy. This happens when the economy of the country is weak and many home made are available but nobody buys them. As a result, the government can encourage the public to patronize more of the local products to improves on the growth of the economy for a better country, that does not mean there are no imported goods. Another reason is that it encourages local manufacturer, knowing that the public are buying from them. In some provinces, people avoid home made product because they think is inferior or are poorly made, so they prefer to buy foreign products. These discourages the manufacturer and weaken the economy.

This is a positive trend because the people tends the appreciate the locally made goods and the manufacturer, aiding the economy too. It can also motivates some investors into investing at home and it also provides employment opportunities for more people because more factories will be opened. For examples, many graduates are unemployed after schooling because no job at sight . However, when there are more industries because locally made items are purchase, more and more will be produced.

In conclusion, it is advised to buy local product for it's benefits to the public and the country. It can be positive or negative trend depending on how it is managed.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the evaluation of whether it is positive or negative. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the explanation of why local goods are perceived as inferior is brief and could have been expanded with more specific examples. The position is clear, but the arguments lack depth and supporting evidence. The conclusion is a bit repetitive and does not fully synthesize the points made in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that each reason is supported by a clear, logical explanation or a concrete example.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. There is a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or repetitive (e.g., 'Another reason', 'For examples'). Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the flow of ideas could be smoother. Referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the connection between sentences is weak, such as in the second paragraph where the link between the economy and consumer behavior could be more explicitly stated.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. There is some repetition of basic terms like 'goods', 'economy', and 'products'. While the student attempts to use some topic-specific vocabulary, such as 'manufacturer' and 'investors', the range is limited. There are also some minor errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'patronize more of the local products' and 'no job at sight', which slightly affect the naturalness of the expression. Expanding the range of synonyms and collocations would help elevate the score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there are increase', 'people tends the appreciate', 'These discourages') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some missing commas and incorrect apostrophe usage (e.g., 'it's benefits'). While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to be noticeable. To reach a higher band, the student should focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and diversifying sentence structures.
