Student answer (Band 6.5)
There has been a debate over buying process of the consumers goods from the local markets instead of being purchased from the foreign markets. There are couple of reasons making the statement true and I believe that the trend has been shifting towards the positive development of the nation. I have explained justifications in the ensuing paragraphs.
The foremost reason is the foreign Policies. Nowadays, many countries facing the higher tariffs rates on the goods that are being imported in the country. As a consequence, the imported goods are selling at the higher prices which make consumers to purchase goods from the local markets. Secondly, citizens of the respective nations promote their own make in nation products. This way they could potentially grow their economy and reduce dependencies on other nations.
Thirdly, buying goods from the local manufacturers offer them competitive prices and good services. This buying factor makes a significant impact on cost saving and quality of the products. For instance, India is a big consumer market and residents of the nation aiming to buy goods which has been manufactured in India since it has offered a quality and affordable price as compared to the imported products.
With the aforementioned reasons , I would like to conclude that the patterns has been moving towards the positive development of the nation since procuring goods and services from the home nation ended up saving money and helping nation to potentially reduced dependencies on other nations which eventually contributes to the nation's economy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and the writer's opinion on whether it is positive. The ideas are relevant, such as mentioning tariffs and economic independence. However, the development is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about 'foreign policies' and 'tariffs' is mentioned but not fully explained in terms of how it directly influences consumer behavior beyond a general statement. The conclusion clearly states the writer's position, but the overall depth of the arguments could be improved to reach a higher band by providing more specific examples or deeper analysis of the economic implications mentioned.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. The use of cohesive devices such as 'The foremost reason', 'Secondly', 'Thirdly', and 'With the aforementioned reasons' helps guide the reader through the argument. However, the flow is occasionally hindered by slightly mechanical transitions and some awkward phrasing, such as 'There are couple of reasons making the statement true'. While the paragraphing is appropriate, the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be smoother to achieve a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express their ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific language like 'tariffs', 'manufacturers', and 'dependencies'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'buying process of the consumers goods' (should be 'consumer goods') and 'own make in nation products' (should be 'domestically produced goods'). The range is sufficient to communicate, but lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors throughout, such as 'many countries facing the higher tariffs' (missing auxiliary verb 'are'), 'selling at the higher prices' (unnecessary article), and 'patterns has been moving' (subject-verb agreement error). While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. The writer demonstrates an attempt at complex structures, but control over these is inconsistent.
