Student answer (Band 7.0)
In this present time, costumers prefer to purchase locally produced items rather than foreign items. There are numerous reasons behind this and I will explain these in the upcoming paragraphs. In my perspective it is a positive trend because it brings multiple benefits not only for the users but also for the economy as well.
Firstly, our new generation is well aware from the fact that imported goods are not only expensive but they also create certain issues such as extra packaging, exploitation of our resources and utilization of the energy resources as well. When we import any product from foreign nation, we pay duty and tariff on it. Secondly, enormous amount of energy like petrol and other modes of transports are used for the delivery of these products. Furthermore, people are educated and they wanted to support their local vendors who are facing numbers of challenges because of the competition with these imported goods. Additionally buying locally produced items, individuals can save their money because these products are affordable as compare to the imported goods. Last but not the least, locally produced products are more authentic and traditional.
I opine that, this is a completely positive trend because it build the cycle and chain of actions which eventually benefits our economy. To begin with when folks choose local goods. It encourages to the local vendors to produce more. In order to meet the demand they hire more people owing to which the level of the employment also surge. Consequently, poverty decline and people started to earn more revenue. In this way, our money will not go out of the country and eventually, our GDP will also get high. The money that government uses to pay taxes on imported goods can be used in other primary areas for the development of the nation.
In conclusion, It is a wise choice made by the consumers because they are well aware from the benefits of choosing local goods. They know that in this way they can play essential role in the development of our economy and can reduce carbon footprint and excessive garbage which is caused by extra packing that foreigner companies use to make their product appealing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The response addresses all parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for the trend and clearly stating a position that it is a positive development. Ideas are relevant and generally well-supported, such as the discussion on economic growth and environmental impact. However, some arguments, like the claim that local products are 'more authentic and traditional,' are slightly underdeveloped. The position is consistent throughout the essay. To reach a higher band, ensure that every point made is fully explained with concrete examples or deeper analysis rather than just listing benefits.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'Firstly,' 'Furthermore,' 'Additionally,' and 'To begin with' are used to guide the reader. However, there are instances where the flow is slightly mechanical or awkward, such as the sentence fragment 'To begin with when folks choose local goods.' Additionally, some referencing is slightly repetitive. Improving the variety of linking phrases and ensuring that sentences are grammatically complete would enhance the overall flow and cohesion of the response.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'duty and tariff,' 'carbon footprint,' and 'GDP.' However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'costumers' instead of 'consumers,' 'well aware from' instead of 'well aware of,' and 'poverty decline' instead of 'poverty declines.' While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more precise control over word forms and collocations to reach a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people... wanted to support,' 'it build the cycle,' 'level of the employment also surge') and preposition usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with some sentence fragments and unnecessary commas. While the writer attempts complex structures, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve the score.
