Student answer (Band 6.5)
In the contemporary era, it is often seen that buying local products over imported ones is increasingly becoming popular. There are several reasons behind this change. However, some people think that it is a positive change while others are opposite of it. I firmly believe that it has positive outcomes. Causes of becoming this trend and its positive outcomes will discuss in the following paragraphs.
To begin with, first and foremost, people are becoming educated about it . They can support the small local producers and small firms by using their products. Furthermore, although these products are higher in price, they are good in quality. For example, it is often seen that when we buy imported goods that always made of cheaper quality. Since companies want to make it cheaper, it affects the quality of the commodities. Therefore, society, nowadays, is well-educated to find the difference in quality.
Apart from this, purchasing local good has some merits in terms of giving jobs, securing ancient skills. When people starts buying goods from their community, it helps to establish more and more small firms or shops. Moreover, it is beneficial for individuals who are unemployed. Additionally, it assist in preserving pictures or skills what was made in past. In this way, they not only helpful in creating job opportunities for people but also beneficial of preserving their past things.
Overall, People are choosing local products over imported is due to education about quality and its appearance, I believe it has some merits as it provides employment and preserve our past.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention quality and job creation, the arguments remain at a surface level and lack specific, concrete examples to fully support your points. For instance, mentioning 'ancient skills' is a good idea, but it is not explained in enough detail to be fully convincing. To reach a higher band, ensure that each main point is supported by a clear, illustrative example or a deeper explanation of the cause-and-effect relationship.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with,' 'Furthermore,' and 'Apart from this' to link your ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'others are opposite of it' or 'Causes of becoming this trend... will discuss'. The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help improve the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some relevant terms like 'contemporary era,' 'commodities,' and 'unemployed.' However, there are instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'preserving pictures or skills what was made in past' and 'beneficial of preserving.' To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and avoiding repetitive phrasing. Expanding your range of vocabulary to include more topic-specific terms related to economics or consumer behavior would also be beneficial for achieving a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You demonstrate a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'people starts buying'), article usage, and sentence construction (e.g., 'they not only helpful in creating... but also beneficial of preserving'). These errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your message. To improve, pay closer attention to verb forms and ensure that your complex sentences are constructed accurately. Reviewing basic grammar rules regarding pluralization and prepositions will help reduce the frequency of these slips.
