Student answer (Band 6.5)
Nowadays, an increasing number of consumers started buying goods local produced goods instead of imported items. This trend by people's would support local business and environmental issues caused because of import and export of goods. In my opinion this is a positive development because it beneficial for both local markets and environment.
There are several reasons why people are interested in goods which are locally produced. First of all, reach to all products would be easy for the consumers and by supporting items produced within the region directly help the economy. Secondly, local produced fruits and vegetables are consider more fresh, imported undergo long travel which usually packed with the chemicals. For Instance- In the villages, farmers produced fresh vegetables, and fruits and consumers can directly buy from them after checking the richness and freshness of goods.
I consider this as a positive trend as it helping both local region economy and environment. Money spend by consumers locally directly help the vendors which grow the local community market rather giving benefits to another cities. Small businesses will also get the chance to grow, even more employment opportunities will created by consumers because of the demand of products. Moreover, Environmental issues would be easily resolve by help of community. Less transportation for goods directly lead to less pollution.
In Conclusion, growing local economy and resolve environmental issues is possible by the help of consumers if they will purchase locally produced products. All together I believe this is a positive outcome for both vendors and buyers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention economic and environmental benefits, the explanations remain quite general. For instance, the point about 'chemicals' in imported goods is a good start but lacks specific detail or a more sophisticated explanation. To reach a higher band, ensure that each reason is fully extended with more depth and clearer logical links to the main argument. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting arguments could be more robustly developed.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'First of all,' 'Secondly,' and 'In conclusion' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the connection between ideas is slightly disjointed, such as in the second paragraph regarding the transition from economic benefits to food freshness. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, which makes some sentences feel repetitive. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring smoother transitions between sentences would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your meaning clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'vendors,' 'economy,' and 'transportation.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'local produced goods' (should be 'locally produced') and 'imported undergo long travel' (should be 'imports undergo long travel'). The range of vocabulary is somewhat limited, and you rely on basic phrasing. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and a wider range of academic vocabulary to express your ideas with greater sophistication.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'farmers produced' instead of 'farmers produce'), missing articles, and incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'employment opportunities will created' instead of 'will be created'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on proofreading for verb tenses and passive voice construction would be highly beneficial.
