Student answer (Band 6.5)

Nowadays, the demand of local goods a incresing rapidly among consumers reather then buying international goods, this essay will explain the reasons behind this trend as well as why I assert this is a positive trend?

One of the major reason is government support to local business, Authorities try there best to aware individuals about more and more local goods as well as the positive effect of it on the countries GDP. Therefore, when individuals buy local goods, local business earn more money which lead them to pay high tax on their earning. The money government collect as a form of tax will be used in the countries developement.

In addition, marketing place a crusial role in this trend, modern businessmen know their target audience very well. Consequently, they run marketing campains according to that on social media to reach out to them. Moreover, while people get same product in cheap price from local suppliers why they spend too much for just imported brand name. As a result, local products are getting more popular among users.

In my opinion this is a positive trend. While, international products are associated with respected and well known brand but the cheap price, boost countries GDP and accessibility of local product put me in the favour of this trend.

In conclusion, undoubtedly the demand of local items are growing fastly in every country because every ination want to reduce there depandence on other for basic goods. This will help them to save themself for price fluctuation in international market.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for the trend and whether it is positive or negative. The ideas are relevant, such as government support and marketing strategies. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the explanation of how local businesses contribute to GDP is a good start but lacks depth. The position is clear throughout, though the conclusion introduces a new point about price fluctuations that was not previously developed in the body paragraphs. To improve, ensure that each point is fully explored with specific examples or logical consequences rather than just stating them briefly.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. Cohesive devices such as 'In addition', 'Consequently', and 'Moreover' are used to link ideas, though some transitions feel a bit mechanical. There are issues with referencing and sentence-level flow; for example, the phrase 'while people get same product in cheap price' is slightly awkward and disrupts the logical progression. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the reasons from the opinion. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more fluid and less repetitive.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their meaning clearly. There are attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'GDP', 'marketing campaigns', and 'price fluctuation'. However, there are several spelling errors ('incresing', 'reather', 'crusial', 'campains', 'ination') and some awkward collocations ('get same product in cheap price', 'growing fastly'). The range is sufficient to discuss the topic, but the frequent spelling mistakes and limited precision in word choice prevent a higher score. Focusing on accurate spelling and learning common collocations would significantly improve this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there is a high frequency of grammatical errors. Issues include subject-verb agreement ('demand... are growing'), missing articles ('in the countries developement'), and incorrect word forms ('fastly'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage and the misuse of question marks in the introduction. While the meaning is generally clear, the density of errors is noticeable and occasionally distracts the reader. To improve, the student should focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for common grammatical slips.
