Student answer (Band 6.5)
Their is a increase in customers choosing to buy locally produced goods rather than imported products. Their are multiple reasons for people to make this decision. It is definetly a positive trend although it might have some negative effects.
The first reason I could think of is the inflation. Inflation has surged the prices so much that imported good costs way more than the locally generated products. when the procust in local it only takes a few steps to reach into your hands while the imported food is tranported from many diffrent parts of globe, which does increase the products cost of selling.
Secondly, The freshness that the local product carries is lacking in the imported food. I went to the local farmers market last weekend, I wanted to purchase some apples to bake a pie, the apples drectly from the farm were a little small in size, a little less red and shiny but were way more fresh than the imported apples which were big and red, looking like a photo perfect apple. the price diffrence between a local apple and the improted apple was almost double. which is again a big factor affecting consumer choosing local goods over imported once.
Overall, this is a positive trend cause it also helps and supports local market and farmers. The only negative factor I can think of is acccesiblity of diffrent variety of product would become difficult if the consumers only rely on localy originated products. cause not everything can be grown or made in one region.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. The ideas are relevant, such as inflation and freshness, and the position is clear throughout. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat basic. For instance, the discussion on the negative effects is limited to the lack of variety. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more depth or nuanced examples. The structure is logical, and you have successfully covered all requirements of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use basic cohesive devices like 'The first reason', 'Secondly', and 'Overall' to guide the reader. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is slightly unclear, such as the transition between the price of apples and the broader conclusion. The paragraphing is appropriate, but the use of linking words could be more varied and sophisticated to improve the overall cohesion of the text.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'inflation', 'imported', and 'accessibility'. However, there are several spelling errors ('definetly', 'procust', 'tranported', 'diffrent', 'localy', 'acccesiblity') and some awkward phrasing ('photo perfect apple', 'locally generated products'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the score. To improve, focus on using more precise collocations and ensure you proofread for common spelling mistakes, as these detract from the professional tone of your writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('Their is a increase', 'Their are multiple reasons') and article usage. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with several run-on sentences and comma splices, such as 'I went to the local farmers market last weekend, I wanted to purchase...'. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your points, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall accuracy score.
