Student answer (Band 6.5)
We have often noticed that citizens are more efficiently moving towards the products manufactured in their surrounding rather than to buy imported goods. In this essay we will discuss the main reasons for this and also if this is positive or negative for the country.
To begin with, Nowadays people have started supporting to local venders than to buy from big brands. People have noticed that buying from local shopkeepers is far most cheaper than to buy from some well known companies. Moreover, this will leads to increase in purchasing power of the people so that they can spend their hard earned money to essential things. This well even help in increasing the economy of the country. For illustration, If people start buying from local vendors the money will stay within the country which directly leads economy to boost. People already comes out from the delusion of buying imported goods will make them cool and feel good looking. Citizens becoming completely change with the time.
Secondly, We have regularly noticed the influence of social media among the people nowadays. Many people started supporting the home grown brand and to not to support global brands. For instance, we have seen Shark Tank a well known business show who supports young talent and people who have incredible mind to make a multi-million dollar company. This thing creates a influence among the people which is the best thing to support the people who are exceptional. Government should also launch such types of programs and grant some subsidies to the people who actually want to do big in coming future.
In conclusion, I can completely say that this is the positive trend for the people themselves and for the country. People should keep supporting the local vendors and help them in growing.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the evaluation of the trend. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding the economy is mentioned but lacks depth, and the link between social media and local purchasing is a bit tenuous. While the position is clear, the supporting examples, such as the reference to 'Shark Tank', are not fully integrated into the argument. To improve, you should aim to provide more detailed explanations for your points and ensure that your examples directly support your main arguments rather than just being mentioned in passing.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are instances where the logical progression is slightly disjointed, such as the transition between the economic argument and the social media point. Additionally, some referencing is unclear, such as 'This thing' in the second paragraph, which lacks a specific antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will help you achieve a higher band score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'far most cheaper' (should be 'far cheaper'), 'delusion of buying' (perhaps 'misconception'), and 'feel good looking'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the overall range is limited. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more sophisticated synonyms to express your ideas more naturally. Avoid informal or repetitive phrasing to ensure your writing sounds more academic and professional.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include 'this will leads to' (should be 'this will lead to'), 'People already comes out' (should be 'People have already come out'), and 'Citizens becoming completely change' (should be 'Citizens have completely changed'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the use of capital letters after commas. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in verb tense, subject-verb agreement, and sentence construction prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. Focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy.
