Buying products from the local area has become more popular due to various reasons as compared to buying from other nations.
On the one hand, there are a number of causes why people like to buy things from the local areas. If they buy goods from other nations, they have to pay for transport which is expensive for them. As a result, it helps to reduce there importing charges and taxes. In addition, sometimes they have urgent need to fulfill their requirements, but it takes time to transfer things one place to another. Buying things from their own area can help to save their time and money.
On the other hand, every coin has two sides. This trend has both merits and demerits. If they buy things from their area this can support to the local farmers to improve their financial conditions. At the same, they can be motivated to provide good quality products to their buyers. However, importing play an important role to build strong relationship to other nations. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses both parts of the prompt, identifying reasons for local purchasing and discussing the trend. However, the development is limited by the word count, which falls below the 250-word minimum. The ideas regarding economic benefits and transport costs are relevant but remain somewhat superficial. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not fully synthesise the arguments presented. To improve, you should expand on your examples and ensure that your position is clearly stated and consistently maintained throughout the essay. Because the response is under the required length, it is penalised under this criterion.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear attempt to use cohesive devices such as 'On the one hand', 'In addition', and 'Moreover'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear. For example, the transition in the final paragraph is abrupt, and the connection between the arguments could be smoother. Paragraphing is present, but the overall progression of ideas lacks the sophistication required for a higher band. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'importing charges', 'financial conditions', and 'boost their economy'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'import to other nations' instead of 'exported to other nations' and 'at largest level'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on using more precise collocations and less common vocabulary items in a natural way, while ensuring that your word forms are consistently accurate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'importing play an important role' (subject-verb agreement) and 'support to the local farmers' (incorrect preposition). There are also minor punctuation and article errors throughout the text. While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. To improve, focus on mastering subject-verb agreement and the correct use of prepositions, and try to incorporate a wider variety of complex structures with greater accuracy.
