In recent years, shopping has been a common habit of individuals. Nowadays, some customers prefer to but goods that are produced in their local area instead of imported goods. This essay will mention some reasons about this viewpoint, and I think that it is a positive trend.
To begin with, several reasons can be considered to support the idea that purchasing local products is beneficial. The predominant reason is that this development keeps more money in the local areas; as a result, it increases local economy and provides employment to numerous people. Not only this, but individuals can get fresh and seasonal fruits and vegetables, as it would be helpful for their health. Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses both parts of the prompt: the reasons for buying local and the opinion on whether it is a positive trend. The ideas are relevant, covering economic benefits, health, and environmental impact. However, the development is somewhat repetitive; the second body paragraph largely restates points made in the first (e.g., transportation and environment). To improve, you should expand on each point with more specific examples or deeper analysis rather than listing similar benefits in separate paragraphs. The position is clear throughout, but the depth of argument is limited by the brevity of the supporting evidence provided.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate ideas. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions are mechanical or slightly awkward, such as 'Not only this, but...' and 'As well as, supporting...'. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, particularly in the final sentence of the second paragraph where the connection between 'maintaining' and 'food' is grammatically disjointed. Improving the variety and natural flow of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to express ideas clearly. There are some attempts at less common vocabulary, such as 'predominant' and 'sustainable'. However, there are several spelling errors ('counryside', 'produts', 'transpostation', 'cosumers') and some awkward collocations, such as 'get good quality products with low rates' and 'maintain their by consuming'. While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a need for more careful proofreading and a wider range of precise, academic vocabulary to reach a higher band score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, such as 'encourages people to less commute' (should be 'commute less'), 'reduce environmental impact' (should be 'reduces'), and 'provides opportunities to customers to buy' (should be 'provides customers with opportunities to buy'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are issues with sentence fragments and subject-verb agreement. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and ensuring consistent verb forms, as these errors occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency of the writing.
